Enhanced cognition from alcohol?

What I learned from being a fairly heavy drinker for 20 years is that alcohol does not make you confident or charismatic, it only works against you. The only thing it does is make you not care, which is completely different from confidence.

It may be able to make you not care enough to go and approach, but it will be an up-hill battle from there as you forget things she said, sway a bit on your feet, laugh a bit too hard at her jokes etc. You'll just be less genuine overall.

If you can stick to just a couple with alcohol you'll be ok, but any more than that is a big turn off for quality women.

Drunken hookups do happen which is partly why people believe alcohol helps them get laid, but you'll find that is inconsistent and who wants to rely on that?

Real confidence comes from knowing that your good enough and that knowing can not be generated with drugs/alcohol.

PS. I did get my drinking under control 3 years ago. 6 months no alcohol then only went back to occasional social drinks, I avoid it as much as possible these days. After stopping, I quickly realised how much better I felt and my self esteem got much better.

I'm 34, I did the raver thing from about 23 - 31. Substances are great in your 20's and sure, maybe it's cheating, but it does help get out there. If you were an introverted person, it will help you become comfortable with being an extroverted and empathetic person, which I see as a positive thing.

The double edge is this - by the time you're 30, everyone either has formed an alcohol or drug problem, or quit them altogether. The ones with the problems you don't want to be around, and the ones without that moved on you will realize you don't have a lot in common with except for the parties you used to have. The real issue is that friendships and connections built on being high are artificial, and therefore are on a timed life.

There is also the moral problem that the game you are playing is kind of manipulative. It's easy to feel you're more successful than you really are at game, and then suddenly fall off of the game completely. If you're relationship was founded on getting high, that relationship will fail. And finally, getting fucked up gets boring after awhile, you had better make sure there is more to you than that, or you're going to grow old really quick without anyone you truly have connected with on an emotional level.

I think cheating implies guaranteed success or improvement of odds. Anyone can tell you that to much booze will bring your odds to near zero. It's just another aspect of tactics, you have to know how much alcohol will put you right in the pocket where you are euphoric and your inhibitions are eased.

This is actually perfect timing given I had started using adderall here and there and I find it improves my ability to express myself smoothly. It kind’ve calms me down but keeps me intensely focused. This intense focus, yet serious, firm and intellectual attention I give I feel is far more intriguing than my regular wound up self, that is usually Struggling to effectively communicate, this isn’t always, just sometimes. I also find that it changes the way I carry myself, I can focus on each body movement and every thing I do, I do it consciously. I can keep eye contact for longer. And It changes my facial features as well, my jaw becomes more locked in which makes it more chiseled and defined. It also increases my confidence in myself, mostly intellectually. All of these things, are pretty much the definite things of a seductive or intriguing personality. It gives me an heir of mystery because I slow myself. I do not give away everything about myself and am instead much better at intaking information.

Many would think that it would cause one to act speed like, but not for me. For me it’s like I’m a train. And usually I’m a train that tries and go everywhere real fast, but that makes me loud, and wears me down. When I’m on adderall it’s like I’m actually going fast, not trying, but this isn’t noticeable. Why because it smoothes me out. It’s like I’m a train that gets where it needs to be but does it so smoothly and calmly you seem slower than the previous train. But you are actually getting faster and better results moving at a fast, but smooth and calm pace.

The medication also makes me more assertive and more survival oriented.

I also assume that because I feel more content inside people can simply read that and feel my natural presence as a leader.

It satisfies, and that satisfaction shows. People want what I have, I suppose.

It also makes me view most of my interactions as more pleasurable.

All of this I believe helps only in moderation, and only for certain types. If you do it everyday then there is no change. If there’s no change than what is the point of taking something. We are who we are for a reason. This doesn’t mean that if your a carpenter you stop using tools though. You just don’t use tools all the time. Because your not always working.

I have also been trying to integrate the qualities I have when on adderall into my sober personality. It is not as natural as just taking the medication, but I do not believe in using it very much. Every once in a while is all you should need to boost your game. And when your not on it, think about how you would act if you where. And if the situation calls for that type of personality than apply it As needed.

It’s not cheating technically but I would say it’s more unhealthy to always rely on it, long story short for ME personally I don’t want to rely on any drugs or alcohol to be myself and game the girls, I don’t want to ALWAYS drink or do drugs to make myself be more comfortable at talking to girls/anyone in general or even worst, create a HABBIT. But if you have good self control then do it. Pretty much don’t be like Beth in the Queens Gambit. You should always be the best 100% self and other substances should only enhance that beyond +100% but don’t RELY on it.

Everyone has tackled the most common substance (alcohol) and for the most part, they're right. That being said, I've noticed that having coke and doing with girls will typically get them to party with you more. I personally do not do hard drugs nor am I advocating them but if you already like doing coke etc., doing with girls will definitely boost your game. I have friends who do coke and they use it to attract hot clubby girls. Here's a second "that being said", these guys' game, frame, income, and lifestyle is already set really high. They don't necessarily need coke to game; it's a strong tool though. In other words, don't think that doing drugs by itself will get you girls. You need the full package and party drugs will bring you the rest of the way there.

On a side note, I truly believe game is amoral. It's your life to live. Guys here will tell you not to do alcohol, drugs etc. because of XYZ reasons; they're not wrong to warn you but it's up to you if you want to listen to them.

Personally I don't find things like alcohol or nicotine to affect me much at all, other than upsetting my stomach. Usually people will just blame that on being a "dry drunk," but this definitely isn't the case, as I've stopped drinking entirely for well over a year, and similarly (to a lesser extent, maybe a few months) with nicotine. I know it's not entirely objective, but then drugs really are difficult to make objective statements about when it comes to how they affect perception, but I tend to believe alcohol, much like psychedelics, is highly dependant on set and setting. If you're in a good mindset with good people, you may feel good drinking.

So I tend to see exogenous chemicals as just amplifying whatever was already there. Which yes, I suppose you could say is similar to steroids also. But I don't really think the game analogy for dating translates perfectly here to a sport like baseball.

I'd be more concerned about whether the strategies you employ in dating are ethical/moral really. I've been a decent, pretty normal-functioning person, relative to my sober self, to people even on some harder drugs; they don't just turn you into some radical deranged asshole, though that's what tv and DARE tend to depict. (Perhaps tv does it to encourage people to do drugs, I don't know. I've said before I don't really get things like psychedelics, and many who claim experiences with them report that their experiences are completely unlike how they're depicted on tv.)

Whatever alterations that occur due to drug use are pretty minimal. If you're using offers of drugs to get laid, maybe that should be criticized though, as it's just a sleazy tactic.

I would microdose lsd and go out. I would find that it had similar effects to adderall. A type of enhanced cognition but not the same type of focus. With adderall it’s like laser focus where I’m dialed in to whatever has my attention where as on lsd I have enhanced awareness and coordination. I’m able to think about multiple things in an environment, notice fine details and see connections. When it comes to talking to people I am more confident because I feel connected. I feel like I’m able to express my true self. My mind easily draws information such as memories and facts that I can use in conversation. I have tremendous energy, a more dominant tone in my voice, and a more relaxed demeanor. I pick up on body language and social cues faster and more naturally. Definitely boosts EQ in my opinion. Drinking a little bit can relax you more. Just don’t drink too much. Your body has limits that can’t actually be passed with lsd, but it makes you feel like you can which results in overdoing it. The effects of THC are enhanced and can make you paranoid but if you’re calm then you can have very creative and enjoyable thoughts. Definitely a favorite of mine and great for talking to girls when you’re out. You just gotta make sure not to do too much and focus on matching their energy. That can be difficult because you can feel like you’re about to explode if there’s not enough going for you. That’s why a drink can help. Just don’t drink it too fast.

In game there’s no cheating. You stack the deck. You should play to your personal advantages and as some people have pointed out clearly, are unique to each person’s individual response to a given drug.

Some drugs for me like weed put me in my head massively.

Alcohol really helps me relate with the rest of the crowd but if I drink too much I can get in my head as I’m more emotional. Other times I’m a literally drunken god.

Hallucinogenics I highly recommend with lower intensities. It’s an experience that shouldn’t be missed.

Seek to pay attention to your experience with different drugs. Be honest about if you felt they helped.

While partaking in the same alcohol and drugs of your ideal demographic of women helps you relate, if you don’t know you’re capable of doing without them then there’s a crutch in your confidence.

Many men don’t ever personally address that and they actually are just fine.

For me, experiencing going out dead sober for a few months, I learned you simply get more creative. You notice advantages to that state too. You can drive her back to your place, you can stay up and go out longer, you remember all the details and valuable lessons from each interaction.

So for yourself, carefully weigh out the pros and cons of your experience. Be honest when you get too drunk. Try them all out (that’s the fun part) and try game sober too.

Honestly nothing better than being in zone, sober, and realizing it’s never the drugs so much as the perspective you choose to have in every moment.

Drugs help show you the options.

Personally, I only drink small amounts of alcohol when sarging, since I like the taste, and it is part of the "ritual" of the nightlife. The slight boost to confidence from alcohol is not really something I need.

OTOH, Im pretty much addicted to caffeine. When out night-gaming, I drink energy drinks by a bucketful.

Over the years, I noticed that PUAs could be divided into two groups:

- lazy, confident ones who need a motivation and an energy boost - these ones use energy drinks

- high energy nervous ones who need alcohol to calm down and relax

Im definitely the former, but usually wingman with the latter.

If you think alcohol or nicotine is cheating, wait to try coke. Yes, coke is cheating IMO. It's day and night. It will fuck you up though. There are more drugs nowadays as well which have varying effects on charisma/confidence/inhibitions/mood/etc. but most of them are not safe either. If the girl is the one who is drunk on the other hand, that's another story.

Keep in mind that it also depends on what you call "game". If your objective is to go out one night, have fun and end up in a hotel room with a chick you barely know her name, then yes, they will boost your success considerably (in contrast with a similar man who is not using them). It sounds unfair, but I see it happen all the time. However, for me, "game" is going out and working on my confidence and my charisma and trying out the new things I learn here or in books, and also meeting new and interesting people. Substance usage is not only utterly useless for these goals, but will also hinder you considerably.

Back in highschool, I brough a water bottle filled with jack daniels to school, ended up drinking it in 4th period and at lunch I made conversation with this girl I previously was terrifed to talk to. She didnt know I was under the influence however we ended up hooking up under the stairs after school.. good times

From my own experience, alcohol is a no no. Yah, it makes you feel like you give no fucks but it also brings up a lot of unresolved personal problems, if you don't have them sorted. Not sexy at all. I'd say don't over do it.

As far as recreational drugs it can lead to dependency if you aren't careful. I'd say only use stuff like pot(weed) only when you are social with her.

Just limit the use is what I'm saying.

I would say say these substances can “enhance” your night, but there a couple huge caveats to using them in game.

Think of it from a long term perspective: if you want to go out and get really good at socializing, it stands to reason that the more you go out, the better you’ll get. Realistically, it takes most guys between 6 months and a year of dedication to get good.

If you want to have the longevity go out 3 or 4 nights a week, drinking and smoking when you’re out just ain’t going to work, you can’t keep poisoning your body like that on an extended basis.

The second caveat is the dependency and association you build up with these substances. If you go out 4 nights a week for 6 months and you have a few drinks every time, your brain will associate the activities and it will be nearly impossible to get in the zone unless you have your drinks.

Keeping these downsides in mind, I think it would be disingenuous to not consider how ,alcohol especially, has been a social lubricant since days of antiquity. Let’s say your inner state on a night out is a 7/10, a few drinks might help get you to an 8/10 or a 9/10. But you’re taking out a loan. You have to pay for it the next day in the form of a subtle hangover, messing up your metabolism and throwing off your fitness goals.

You should absolutely go out and practice night game sober af. Getting into a great mood and putting out good energy when you’re sober is a skillset and it is your sword and shield in game. Focus on the task at hand and don’t get sucked into “club culture” - they want you to feel insecure so you buy drinks for yourself and for women. You should be very clear in your intent and not getting influenced by the loud disorienting environment.

All that being said, if a shot with a bunch of new friends or a drag off a girl’s cigarette before jumping in the cab and going home with her is just part of the night, it’s your life and feel free to live it how you want.

Nothing is cheating in game. Game itself is technically cheating if you wanna think of it like that. Use whatever means you can. From my experience game works but not the way it’s sold. It’s not magic and won’t get a guy who’s a 2 girls who are 10s. Most of game from mystery method was really built off social proof and pre selection. You could say using pre selection is cheating as well...... Game helps get the girls who view you as just making her cut. Pre selection and social proof opens the door to more women. It makes men who alone might be a 3-4 become a 5-6 and now he’s got a shot. If he was perceived as a 4 she wouldn’t allow him to game her. That’s when a lot of women walk away or ice wall, they give one word answers or don’t look at you. From what I’ve seen that’s as far as game will take you. It helps get girls who are maybes and once you get enough of them your confidence builds more. Once your confidence is built more and you’ve got some of your maybes more women will view you as at least a 5 than before. So now you essentially have a new normal. If she doesn’t view you as a potential sexual partner from the start she won’t unless she sees some social proof or pre selection.

I think its okay as long as you know your limits, your sweet spots and use the stuff wisely and moderately. When I'm out on a long clubbing night, some amphetamine and a couple of beers make me feel socially invincible. Ecstacy makes me social but not genuine. Weed has an opposite effect on me and makes me withdrawn and go inwards, so I rather prefer it with friends while in a cozy place. When I want to daygame in the afternoon, a cup of coffee is all I need to get in a social mood. So yeah, I suggest you experiment but learn your shit!

Oh, now, I see why I do not go to nightclubs or pubs or smoke cigarettes.

The lips sucking a cigarette and emitting a smoke is quite a seductive gesture basically. Next time I go to a nightclub and smoke a cigarette for the first time in the last five years, I will almost feel like I am having the most intense affair in my life.
