If she doesn't mention it it's a good sign, but if it's advertised that's obviously a bad sign. Try to game and get them out before becoming FB friends. I almost never FB friend a single girl I am interested in unless I have slept with them first, and even then, I try to avoid it.

Why would they mention their boyfriend if you're just being nice and playful? If a girl started to be nice and playful with you, would you just announce out of no where that you have a girlfriend?

No. They don't even need to tell you that. Once you're fb friends, they know you'll see their profile and bf. Why would they bother "being a bitch" and telling you whenever they can provide you the medium to find out without that awkward interaction?

RE: comments - I'll probably be the only one to say this but here goes.

Creeping on girls with a boyfriend is shameful thing to do. Be a man and respect that they're taken. If they're open to cheating, hold your own personal integrity high and politely stop pursuit.

Don't be that douche bag. You know, the one that hits on your gf profusely whenever you're not single. It's not always about slamming girls in your bed every night.

Not sure if you've kept up pursuit, but respect other people and maybe stop if you have.

A lot of girls will start relationships while already in one. This is college dude. If they aren't married they are fair game. I don't mean go scamming on other guys girls. I mean be flirty and fun to ALL girls. If they haven't mentioned that have a bf then they are at least somewhat interested in you. If they mention a bf shrug it off like any other comment she has made. As soon as you react like "OHHH WELL I GUESS YOU'RE OFF THE MARKET!" then you've lost her before you've even had her.

As for fb, don't friend a girl until after you've already been on at least a couple of dates or slept with her. Thats the fun of getting to know someone, the unknown. Spend time talking to them and hanging out instead of getting to know them through their fb page.

OP if you are serious about pursuing a women and uncertain if they are seeing someone, make your intentions clear by either asking them if they are seeing someone or asking them on date, they will mostly likely tell you if they have a bf.

I discovered this at a college party recently- a girl at a toga party I went to was showing me some serious interest, especially since I was wearing a blue bathrobe and I was severely drunk (not good for picking up girls, but I wasn't planning on hooking up that night anyways). The host of the party got her to chase after me and we ended up making out. When we went to her bedroom (she lived in the house too), she told me she wasn't going to have sex with me because it wouldn't be fair to her boyfriend before continuing to kiss me.

The girl who was hosting the party told me that she knew about the boyfriend the entire time- apparently the guy's a tool.

My policy is that if she doesn't tell me she has a boyfriend, she doesn't want me to know, and it's none of my business. It's between her and her boyfriend- I don't have a girlfriend, I didn't do anything wrong. Now if I knew about the boyfriend beforehand and I was the one who made all the advances on her, that would be sleazy, but she was the one who was interested in me first.

This may sound cynical or immoral, but if they don't mention a boyfriend (even if you know they have one) and they seem interested, go for it. It's not your duty to make sure she remains loyal to her boyfriend, and if you're not interested, them someone else will be.

This is tricky. Often times a girl may have a boyfriend, but is open to dating/sleeping around (it happens). You have to be very non-needy, and be ready to hang out with her when she's free from her obligations.

I like chatting with new people, there's no reason for me to assume that just because someone of the opposite gender is talking to me that they're necessarily coming on to me.

If a guy is talking to me and hasn't made it clear his intentions are romantic/sexual, I don't bring up having a boyfriend (if I do) because it feels presumptuous. So if that's what you're going for, ask her early in the interaction.

Girls in what classes? High School? College?

I think in High School, everyone is more status-conscious because they're always in the same grade level, for 4 years. They see the same people over and over, and social structures are rigid.

But in college, things are less structured. You might have a class with someone and never see them again after that semester. College is different. In most colleges, women outnumber men, and good men are a scarce commodity. So there is a "hookup culture" and women may "have a boyfriend" but may be more polygamous. And quality women usually have a new guy in mind before they dump the old guy. Be the new guy she wants. It doesn't matter that she has a boyfriend.

I was in a similar situation. I went to a Halloween party and at the end of the night I point black asked the hottest girl if she had a boyfriend. She hesitated and said no so I asked and got her number. As our texting escalated she told me her boyfriend wouldn't like some of the things I was talking about doing with her (like going to another Halloween party with her sexy costume). Now she has little by little stop communicating with me. I wonder what I should have done differently.

Good sign that she doesn't mention him. It means she's accepting offers. That's what you'd do if you were in her shoes, right? To be honest though, it doesn't matter if she does or she doesn't. You should always assume attraction and ask them out if you're interested. They aren't married after all, and I've stolen away a few girls in the past.

I'd be interested in how others interpret this, but I've gotten to a point in my approaches where committed women will say something like "I feel obligated to tell you that I have a boyfriend". I see this as a good thing because it proves I'm framing the approach effectively (they know I'm interested and they know I'm heading there). It also saves us both time and energy. I pretty much assume that any girl I want to get with has a boyfriend because why the fuck wouldn't they? This is why I ask often ask them their status really quick to diffuse that situation and make it known that I'm going to pursue her either way. I usually poke fun at the boyfriend after I make her tell me all about him. They always laugh. Sometimes they give me their number. Sometimes I end up taking them out.

If you are interested in dating a woman, you should always do the following:

Ask her if she has a boyfriend.
If she says no, ask her on a date using the word "date".

Fail to do those means you're a lot more likely to get friendzoned, which typically leads to them wasting your time, effort, or money!

This has happened to me twice in the past few weeks.

The good thing is that these girls have tells, like in poker, that reveal their unavailability. After you encounter enough of them, it's almost like you can feel their unavailability.

Girls in some of my classes who are cool and borderline flirty don't say a word about a boyfriend. But when we become friends on facebook I find out they are in relationships?? WTF

They are either dumb as posts and don't realize what they are doing, or more likely they are lacking in real self esteem, addicted to validation, and like to line guys up to be orbiters even while they are dating someone.

You probably could game one of them but you have to ask yourself if you'd want the drama of being involved with someone like that, whether you're after something serious or just a fling. But either way, a girl like this who is a validation junkie will get annoying fast.
