Tl;dr: women want men to be both thoughtfully respectful and viscerally passionate, and that's a hard balance to strike. Too respectful and you're boring; too visceral and you're a perv or a predator.

Then a little bit of whining that it's not fair to boys because we don't get that kind of attention (true, but still whining).

There's no magic answer, just be aware of it be respectful but don't wait too long to show her your passion for her - physically and mentally - on a primal level you can't resist.

That article is pretty confusing. Why does the title have nice in so many quotation marks? Let me give you my run down:

a) Guys who put the women's values above his own are not attractive. This can be viewed as niceness, but it can also be some guy who's being a jerk to get her attention also.

b) Express your desire openly. You have a right to, and she'll find it attractive.

c) She has a right to shut you down because she's not compatible with you. There is nothing else to do beyond this point. There is no trying to understand them more.

d) Respect her boundaries just as you'd expect her to respect yours. This has very little to do with attraction, but basic human interaction rules. You can probe to find it, but once you find it, stop.

e) I don't see where in all this do you have to balance or compromise. You can show strong desires while showing respect.

Wow, this guy is disputing what we already know, that women give horrible dating advice to men. This is because "What women want" has nothing to do with what gets women. "What women want" is basically "What women want from a guy THEY ARE ALREADY REALLY INTO". Yea, women want brad pitt to confess their love to them with a bouquet of flowers at their doorstep, but that isn't what is going to get you girls. I would advise those who find this fascinating or surprising to read up on the basics of seduction.

"Nice guy" is such a terrible phrase to describe guys who are so needy that they can't be themselves around a girl for fear of saying the wrong thing. Social ineptitude is social ineptitude; labeling a good quality like kindness as diminutive just makes guys think they have to go out and be douchebags to meet women.

do things with positive intention and do them confidently. if you smack that ass, don't be all apologetic if she's puts on an annoyed face because it'll be so plainly obvious that it's a ruse. you meant it and you meant it positively. if they can't take it in the way you intended, and more importantly, if they can't emphasize with the fact that you were trying to be positive and fun, fuck 'em. don't let other people make your day worse.

edit: the guys who are "respectful" realistically are most likely pushovers.

I can simplify the whole "nice guy" thing into one sentence: Women want a guy who is a nice person, but not one who is doing things out of emotion. Women like passionate guys, just not guys that are passionate about them.
