Was walking back home at like 7pm yesterday, it was kinda dark. I notice this girl walking behind me, 7/10, thought id use this opportunity to break my approach virginity and try it out for the first time.

I slow down to let her catch up, and when she's about to pass me i say with a smile "you look a little sad are you okay?" Because she had a serious face on so i thought id use it as an opener.

I think she either didnt hear what i said properly or she just panicked because i caught her off guard and she just said something like "oh no thanks haha" and kept walking

I felt a little stupid after this and i spent the next 10 seconds thinking of what else to say as she was now in front of me walking away. Then i just force myself to say something else to her. I say "so whats your name?".. she ignores it. I figure she didnt hear me because of the rain and cars going by so i wait for a quiet moment again and this time a little louder i say "whats your name?".. no reply and she just keeps walking so i let it go
