I live in the San Francisco East Bay, and I can vouch for the gender ratio is very skewed. My advice would be to join a few Meetup (dot com) groups that focus on outdoor activities or other activities that interest you. You have to keep up, but the running groups have the most fit women ever! The happy hour scene is pretty good on Meetup too. Don’t flake out and RSVP to events and not show up. You will meet some great people, and probably make a lot of new friends. Focus on having fun and enjoying this beautiful area. I met my girlfriend through speed dating, because the online dating game is horrendous out here. Granted it took the courage to go to a few speed dating events until I found someone I clicked with. To reiterate, focus on self improvement and genuinely having fun.

That being said, you can definitely come across as creepy if you are chasing young tail. You should focus on learning game and viewing every interaction as fun. For cold approach, I will usually not approach younger women (20s) unless I get IOIs. Funnily enough, I still get them even though I am 42. Granted, I do look younger. I dress well and am in shape and make decent money. This makes me more attractive to women in their 20s than the average 25 yo guy. AVERAGE 25 yo guy. A good looking, cool 25 yo guy will likely kick my ass in that demographic! But honestly, I let younger women come to me, because some want something else. I find, generally, that you can't chase them. As you said, it looks creepy as a 42 yo. You can however, let them know you want them physically with how you look at them. With confidence and shamelessly (but not over aggressively). She's essentially a kid in your world. Nice to look at but not to be taken too seriously. If they like you, they will come to you. Not literally of course, but you will know the signs once you get better at game. IOIs. Then you can open them.

I don't know what level you're at but you need to become comfortable taking the lead. With younger girls, you have to keep in mind that you are letting them into your grown up world. You are the one who knows things about how the world works, you are the one deciding what is normal, you are the one that knows how to handle social situations, you need to be decisive, etc, etc. SHE needs to qualify herself to YOU! You really need to flip the script here. If you come to her in a position of supplicant, you will come across as the creepy older guy.

I don't know if this helps you. It's a bit woo woo inner gamey, but this is the state of mind I come from with regards to younger girls. To be completely honest, age DOES matter. No matter what people here will tell you. You as a brand, if you will, will not have appeal to MOST younger girls. Those who do like you though... wow. It can be a really great experience.

EDIT - For a more outer game tip. If you sense that a younger girl might be interesting, throw your age out there for her. Don't say it directly but let her complete the thought about her being too young for you. If she likes you, she'll often start qualifying herself to you. IE: "my last boyfriend was 25. He was so immature". "I once dated a 38 yo guy". Things like that. This gives you some feed back; it let's you know she's likely interested. It also sets the tone for her qualification. Eg, in reply to the first quote: "Really? Are you really that much more mature than the average 25 yo?"

This is a great post. Turning 49 in a week, last week was a first for me, 2 different girls within 48 hours, one I've been sleeping with for a while, 2nd finally converted, both are 15 years younger with great bodies. Trying to meet up with a 3rd that is 27 and ready to go. I just started this journey about 6 months ago, but at least some of them don't appear to care about age.

If daygame involves hanging out at philz in Cupertino, your chances are slim. If you get our at lunch on market St, different story.

If it's the former, let me try to sell you a vision. A group of people of varying ages with similar hobbies, aspirations who meet up for adventures or to shoot the shit. Weekend can be a trip to Napa, or a yoga retreat, music festival or a conference. Week days can be a game night, bookclub or happy hour.

It revolves around your interests. What are they? Cause I would say you could get coffee dates with from gym, or yoga pretty easily. You might hit it off and escalate to that napa Saturday plan. Ask her to bring friends. It might be a business venture, or helping one of your new friends with a project. The goal becomes creating a pool of like minded, attractive people and you go from there.

I just turned 40 and also figuring it out. One of my conscious decisions was too not move to the West coast because of the problems gender ratio causes. If you're in the top 10% you'll succeed anywhere so I'm sure you can overcome. But I figure why swim against the current. The East coast is skewed with more women, especially by age 40.

Just moved to a smaller Midwest college town. Not sure if I have a chance with early 20s girls or not but I sure hope so!

I'm 40 as well. In a LTR wit ha 23 year old fitness model. I only really date fit twenty-somethings. Why? Because I keep my ass in shape, and I expect my romantic partners to do the same.

Go to the gym and put on muscle. Keep your carbs under 80 grams a day. Age is NOT a social barrier for men. FITNESS is. Studies indicate muscular men have an increased first night sex rate of 30-40% over their scrawnier peers.

If your hair is thinning, shave your head and go for the Statham look. It's more dominant.

My LTR girl is bi-sexual and gives me green lights. She also brings her friends over for threesomes every couple of months. I have the best of all worlds because I take care of myself. I don't complain that "the dating market is broken" or complain about my town, "gender ratios "(give me a fucking break with the lame ass passive excuses...)or complain about my age.

I focus on my career, work my ASS OFF at the gym 3x a week, read fiction and non-fiction, only watch TV if it's with my girl, and spend my free time hiking, rafting, and doing photography. I'm always learning, always improving. Because I see those guys out there...I see the chunky 40 year olds that all look the same, that are doomed to jerking off to fantasies the rest of their lives. You have to work to not become that. Hard work.

If you're a pudgy 40 year old white guy who's not a celebrity, you're social life is over with peak attractive women (20's and 30's). Understand that very clearly. You have to work to become what you want to attract. Want to date beautiful 20-somethings? Be a beautiful 40-something. Get some sun. Ditch thinning hair. Lift weights. Dress decently. speak clearly and confidently with honesty.

I don't say this to be mean or to offend. I say this because men, as they age, slip into a couch-lifestyle complacency.

Yes, the actual ratio where you live is shitty, but keep in mind that a huge percentage of those young guys have crazy work schedules, bad social skills, bad physical shape, and interests that may make them a lot of money but aren't intrinsically interesting to women. If you're in great shape, have a decent career (I'm assuming you do, or you would have left the Valley already), and most importantly, have an actual life, interests beyond industry gossip/video gaming/crypto investing, and good stories to tell about the world, you're gonna do fine. The meetup thing might indeed be a challenge; maybe try more, different stuff and look for a hobby where the ratio isn't as skewed?

Do the math on what just a 10% gender disparity means. (55 to 45) West coast: If all women pair with one guy, that leaves 1 in 6 men with nobody. Women can be super picky and dictate the dating rules.

Imagine the opposite in the East coast where 1 in 6 women are left single even after all men are taken. What length might those women go to lure a guy away? Less selective, quicker to sex, maybe even allowing top men to have multiple partners? Better to share half of an elite guy than to have none at all.

I visited downtown SJ last September and I was very envious of the downtown social scene; I swear it was nothing but HB8-10’s congregating in that area, and they were dressed for fun times.
