It's interesting to me the amount of people who believe men are savages who will turn to rape and violence the first chance they get, acting without morals. I think this is overstated in men and understated in women, both coming from sexist places

There's been a huge lack of attention in these things, and some of these topics are extremely rare in research, such as female pedophiles. I for one believe that the amount of female to male pedophiles probably aren't very different

If female-on-male rape and domestic violence are very similar in numbers to male-on-female rape and domestic violence, then to me it stands to reason that female pedophiles probably aren't that different in numbers, that at the end of the day humans can be pieces of shit no matter what

A lot of people don't really care so much about accusations of "sexism" or "racism" anymore because they've been way overused, but they still have a strong emotional reaction to "rapist" and "paedophile". They're not necessarily sincere in these accusations, it's often just to paint the target as "undesirable" and encourage others to condemn them.

There's also an element of control too, most people will instantly drop whatever they were talking about and switch to defending themselves against these kinds of accusations. (If they don't it's often twisted into an implicit admission of guilt)

Isn't it very common for rapists to be victims of rape themselves? I think it's learned behavior and not something inherent to a person in most cases. But I'm absolutely no expert on that topic. All I know is that I'm a guy and the thought of having sex with someone who isn't enjoying it disgusts me.

Two problems come to mind.

The nature vs nurture debate relating to being born with sexual preferences (eg gay) or learning/choosing them.

The other being the philosophical debate around free will and determinism.

It's projection. I can't find it because mobile but someone posted a study that found the majority of women surveyed admitted they would rape a man if they thought they had a good chance. And that they found the notion of raping men to be empowering.

Male sexuality it like that because basically no society has ever seriously accommodated male sexual needs. You're just given an endless list of demands and taboos and told it's literally the only way to happiness.

This whole entire debate is just an illusion, men are made out to be these sexual predators due to a higher sex drive when in reality the truth is either both sexes are equal in this, or the scales are tipped in the opposite. Men just pose a more obvious and direct threat. Like asking what’s more dangerous, a shark or a mosquito. Welp one is certainly bigger, more aggressive, and more fierce. But the other with its many diseases and it’s tiny inoculating bite is actually far more dangerous, even though it is tiny and poses no immediate physical threat. Women’s sexual motivations and aspirations are absolutely depraved and insidious at times, but they don’t manifest as a physical direct threat. They’re roundabout, keen, subverting, and emotionally and mentally taxing instead of physical. This being only when a woman wants to be a predator, of course. Men were made to break skulls, women to break minds. Both are terrifying.

Very very few men (or women) are actual pedophiles. However, while pedophilia is colloquially used as a synonym for child sexual abuse, it's important to remember that there is a very meaningful difference between the two. Most pedophiles do not abuse children and understand that to do so would be wrong. Meanwhile, many child molesters are not actually pedophiles in the clinical sense and appear to abuse prepubescents out of a sadistic desire for power and control. So this is not a distinction without a difference, and I think the media does a great disservice when it uses terms like "convicted pedophile," an impossibility, as pedophilia is not a criminal offence in any jurisdiction in the world.

But I get the feeling that an increasingly large number of women think that men are attracted to children.

An alarming number of people, at least on Reddit, now subscribe to the 25 year old brain myth, that 24 year olds are actually children, and that 25 needs to be the new 18. Recently, I even heard someone mentioning some supposed study supposedly saying the brain doesn't fully develop until you're 30. If we're stretching the definition of "child" that much, then yes, all non-asexual men are pedophiles unless they happen to be exclusive gerontophiles or something. Then again, nearly women would be pedophiles as well too, so that would just be the pot calling the kettle black at that point.

But if we're talking about prepubescent children, then no, obviously not [citation not needed]. And for people who can't or refuse to distinguish between prepubescents and people in their early twenties, I think it's your brain that needs developing.

Well, let's put it this way. Society is geared towards a standard where the females are more attractive. It also heavily features a historically dodgy theory that these same females are held back. It stands to reason that your average twitter infested femchild would think a bear in the woods is safer, having heard that the repressed woman saved her ancestors from the horrible caveman that killed all the bears to keep her safe but was occasionally an asshole because his efforts and needs outside of sex were almost entirely neglected.

Lot of male problems are very written into our core, our dna. I don't blame a young male for occasionally being pissed for having to protect a female who will tell him its because of his sexism. I don't blame a teenage woman who's barely started growing b cups for being a bit concerned about the combination of a toxic as hell left wing echo chamber, the barely teenage sons of village bound 1970s conservatives and some resentful and outdated generic advice, if they even get it, and Gary from their local nightclub.

There are two types of gender equality. Figure out how useful the two differing skillsets are and combine them for team effort, and being petty little shits who point score till the end of time

I think the stereotype that men are just sex obsessed is kinda hurtful indeed. From my own perspective, while yes I can easily find many women attractive, I'm not immediately sexually aroused. I do need an emotional bond, but that many men still need that seems to be heavily underestimated, and mostly overshadowed by the focus on the men that are sexual savages.

Also you're right that sexual assault a lot of the time is actually not just about sexual satisfaction.

Sexual violence occurs at all levels of society and is not limited to men. Anyone can sexually abuse. What you are pointing out is the spectrum of human sexuality vs. the social mores of modern times. In short, it's not just men. It's everyone.

The prevalence of pedophilia is estimated to be 5% among adult men. There is also a distinction between non-offending and offending pedophiles.

Comments like that largely come from people who want to fear monger and/or they just hate men. Likewise I believe a lot of people on all sides of that damn "Man or Bear" question are acting in complete bad faith.
