Mr Craig said it was the “honesty” of Mr Gadd’s character which showed the “grey areas” of abuse that has been particularly helpful for male survivors.

Referred specifically to when Mr Gadd’s character returned to his abusers home, he said: “Survivors will often have that kind of self-blame. I know personally that for so many years I kept going back to the person who caused me harm in some ways as an adult you think why didn’t you just stop going back? It is victim blaming.

“Maybe everyone wants stories that are black and white or goodie and baddie but in reality, it is grey and confusing. That is the reality of being a survivor”

So in a nutshell, everyone wants the easy answer, and that's to blame the man. Ok got it.

The UK really is one of the worst countries to live in as a man right now. Women barely getting any sentence for raping and murdering men and a lot of feminists(so dating is dead).

One thing about the show is that there are so many people who feel sorry for Martha because 'she's a real person with mental illness'. This goes for both the character and the person she's based on.

I sincerely do think that Baby Reindeer was stunning and brave. The guy turned his pain into a dark, painfully cringeful, and at times horrific, comedy. By the last episode or two I immediately thought of this sub and how Gadd has brought to the mainstream Netflix light of male rape/sexual assault. - Topics regularly discussed here. I distrust the mainstream woke media and with the way Netflix and Disney (to quote South Park's Eric Cartman), "make it lame and gay and put a chick in it!" I highly doubt Baby Reindeer would have got onto any mainstream streaming platform without ticking all the DEI boxes. Trans woman ✅ Bisexual main character who explores his sexuality ✅ BIPOC supporting characters in the ex-girlfriend and her mother ✅ I take no issue with the series' casting. Especially if the characters are an accurate portrayal of their real-life counterparts. It's Richard's story. That's just how it happened. But could we honestly say that Netflix would release the same story of a straight white guy raped by his abusive female boss, and a crazed female stalker coming between him and his straight biological female girlfriend?

edit As a follow up, after watching the Piers Morgan interview with the supposed real life "stalker", I believe her over Gadd. The style of comedy used is over the top and exaggerated.

The fact that this woman is looking to sue and have her personal communications investigated, along with Gadd's exaggerations, and that Gadd financially gains more from lying than her, I think Richard Gadd has made this all up and has done poorly to protect his source.
