Where did you take this statement? It’s not part of this subreddit rules.

Also, 90% of removed posts here are about specific situations, incels, spammers, wannabe coaches, off-topics, etc.

It’s full of posts/comments about cold approaches and, sometimes, field reports, which weren’t removed.

So, what’s the point of your post?

Also, remember that this sub has 700+k users, the content comes from the members of this community.

Other than moderating threads, sometimes we (mods) add a more detailed answer to clarify (or simplify) some topic/concept.

EDIT: ok, I’ve seen where you took that statement, the fact that it’s not highlighted as coming from a moderator should tell you that he’s expressing his personal view, with no moderation intent. We (mods) are first and foremost members of this community as well, but there’s a clear separation from mod/member when commenting about a topic with a personal opinion VS moderating content for the community.

I personally have my own opinions about seduction, but this doesn’t mean I’m going to delete posts/comments I disagree with. These are two different things.

Ok I think we are all just arguing on semantics .

Cold approach comes from Pick up - it is refereeing that YOU don’t know if she likes you . So presuming things won’t go your way (aka she is “cold “ ) and you might have to “plow”/“persist”/“do some magic shit” (all mean the same thing) for her to open up and talk to you .

The idea behind it was that you , don’t sit there with your hand in your pants if she is not ecstatic to talk to you .

And the name just stuck . Because it worked for newbies as a mindset . “She will like me at some point” later people decided that “assuming she likes you” works way better .(which it does)

You can guarantee (like 99.99% of the time ) that she will talk to you . You just have to be prepared if she doesn’t “open “(open up ) the second you say “hi”

And after that you go on to seduce her . “Remember Attraction is not a choice” - you can get anything girl you want - it might take longer (I have had sets that have lasted 5 min and we were already going to the toilet , and I have had 3/4h sets where at the end thing went well but it was a slog , i have had times where it took me 7/8 dates) it might be harder , it might be a complete slog but it can be done .

Yes what you say has little to do with anything HOW you say it and how you act is wayyyyyyyyyyyy more important . The open can help (somewhat) , but even if you say the most epic one liner of your life IF you say it like a bitch it won’t work .

For us older people - we were told it is “cold” but shown it wasn’t actually cold it all depended on YOU . So we were never really affected by the name . It is just what you call it .

What the mod is refereeing (I think , I might be wrong again - it happens when I don’t know the person ) - is the headless chicken approach is “Cold approach” and you going in with a plan is “warm approach “ .

It is a “definition” misunderstanding that is the whole problem .

I ,because I have SEEN differently , think that going with a plan is “cold approach” and “warm approach” is when she is begging you to approach her .

That is what the problem is . We just have different definitions for the word .

Looks like we have a new moderator. Been on this sub for years under various usernames. Have always agreed with random mod team comments before...

Anyway, cold approaching is when you chat with a stranger.

Notable because usually most people meet in more structured situations. Friend groups. Work. Your grandma setting you up a blind date with the new coffee girl. College. And so on.

Cold approaching is recommended here because it's a real easy way to meet new people not normally within your reach. Roll up to a stranger and say "Hello." That's it. It's like swiping right on someone IRL.

Obviously, /r/seduction has a little bit more focus than that. Some people need to learn some inner game to even get to the hello. And the part after hello when you actually have someone's attention for more than a second.

I disagree with /u/Elbynerual but I sure as shit don't want to mod this place. And so much of "I did a cold one" is low quality garbage, I'm not really missing anything.

Cold approaching is a thing. And long live the mods.

In my opinion, seduction is a set of behaviors that make the other person feel in love with you and do anything you want her to do, even so to destroy her life for you.

A cold approach is the very first step of this. Think about this, you are a very seducing person (seduction has nothing to do with how attractive you are, yes, attactivess is a huge factor but you can seduce so someone even If you are an average dude) but you don't approach women, you will end alone in the bed.

So, one is a whole process and the other is the entry into it.

Well the way that most people here talk about cold approach and the way that like 99% of guys here do it isn’t really seduction. It’s always these weirdos who travel to some random place where they think women will be. And spam hundreds of the same approaches and canned lines over and over. In environments where people generally don’t want to be approached. And they aren’t looking for any signs of interest. And they do it in a very uncalibrated, socially ackward way. And eventually after months, even years they’re able to find a girl or two who happens to be single and also somewhat interested in them and decides to give them a chance.

It’s extremely inefficient, desperate and needy and can get results from time to time. But the seduction part comes with everything you do after the initial approach and how you’re prepare yourself before the approach in order to be an attractive man women actually want. The “cold approach” itself, even if you consider it to be seduction is an extremely tiny portion of the whole seduction process.

Because nowadays all experts are keywarriors, they think picking up girls from dating apps is the new seduction, sarging is probably the most important aspect in the seduction theory, it allows you to break your mental barriers.

Experts with no real experience, and then add the social media and politics claiming that even saying Hi to a woman is incorrect.

The truth is, most guys do cold approach just trying to get some luck, with no real plan, method or any structure *leading to bad results thus the new so called experts with no experience

To me cold approach is basically approaching without having eye contact with the woman/man before.

If you had eye contact theres an invitation so its not really cold.

The real cold aproach usually only works when you are either super attractive or try with every girl and succeed with 5%.

Id never approach without locking eyes as i really think its creepy and weird, but hey for some guys it might work, but dont be surprised u get a drink in ur face

Ultimately, cold approaching itself, as in walking up to a stranger… CAN and SHOULD be done in a skillful & seductive way. You should be calibrated, grounded, smile with good body language, lock eyes, open the conversation and pause for her to feel your presence.

Then starts your ”seduction” phase lol. No, it starts the immediate moment she sees you.

cold approach has a very narrow definition, and that is to approach when you have no business talking to her. seduction might more be used towards someone you have a reason to talk to, or someone you already know, ie, seducing a neighbor; a customer when youre making a delivery; or toward a customer when youre installing an air conditioner. in all 3 of those situations, you are not going up to a random guy on the street, whereas cold approach is. cold approach also doesnt have to involve any seduction. alot of guys just go up to randoms and say, i saw you from across the street, thought you were cute, and wanted to introduce myself. that is pretty much the bulk of cold approaches done. 99% of the time, it doesnt go beyond that because the female either walks away, or turns you down. alot of guys who cold approach will keep talking even after the female is showing disinterest, and you cant really consider this seduction
