I don't even have an issue with prevention in regards to both genders.

The thing is, if they have an issue with stuff like men bringing up MGM when it comes to FGM, they should abide by their own rules and not do the same thing when it comes to men's issues.

As you said, they use it as ammunition to be dismissive and they frequently derail other men's issues in a similar manner.

I would say a lot of these ‘attempts’ are probably cries for help and attention, taking a few too many pills, cutting etc. Not minimising it but too many men genuinely want out and it gets minimised by rebuttals like this.

What you need to understand is, the goal is to have people talking about women and women's issues..
If there's something that can affect both men and women and it primarily affects men then the discussion needs to be de-railed and shifted back on track of "But women have it worse"

The irony here is.. the whole "Women attempt more" response is literally the same shit women accuse men off when men say "Not All Men!"
Both derail the conversation but obviously.. men are not allowed to de-rail conversations.. women however are totally allowed to de-rail and readjust conversations however..

As OP said, we aren't ignoring female victims of suicide.. they are important and also deserve help..
But the fact of the matter is men ARE dying in higher numbers than women are when it comes to suicide..
It also doesn't help that the definition of "Attempt" is nebulous.. a woman lightly cutting her wrist is considered "An Attempt" for example.

Its also frankly a fucking disgusting statement as it seeks to change the narrative of "But women are actually more suicidal than men because they attempt more!"
Its so disgusting to me that someone could be so callous as to hijack a conversation about an issue men are facing and twist it into "But what about women though!?"

You can say the truth, most "suicide attempts" by women were never actually meant to kill themselves or even possible. They are mostly attention attempts.

That stat is very suspicious when men die from suicide so much more, most likely the stats are manipulated and or inaccurate. I would ask someone that says that to explain to me why women fail so much, what is reason why they would fail so much if they were genuinely trying to commit suicide, do they think women are inept and can't complete a task nearly as well as men.

Suicides are a better guide since it's harder to manipulate that data.

I disagree that women attempt more even as a knee jerk reaction the people who say are out of touch with reality, all feminists and they can be ignored because they always distort facts to suit their narrative. I know men who have committed suicide but I don't know any woman who did in my social circle and when extrapolated it still holds water.

Women's sucidie attempts are far from high they get support they have so many support systems from online to offline, at work but what men got? Very little to nothing.

Women attempt more, but with less severe methods (cutting, burning, pills). Men are more successful when attempting, with more serious methods (guns, car accidents, subway jumping etc). Attempting more is attempting more when the other party is already dead and don't have anything to compare to

I'd say these are self harm, not suicide. Failing is hard in suicide unless you didn't want to actually end yourself. Many of us feel that women do it as a cry for help Men on the other hand know they probably will not get help so they genuinely decide to commit suicide

I feel like a lot of people do this in general instead of facing the issue and trying to amend it. Also (not trying to criticise anything you're saying just adding another example) apparently Men's History Day is most searched on Women's History Day or only brought up around that time (sorry if that's statistically incorrect). It isn't a competition over who lives a worse life or who gets more awareness. Statistics like this exist to prove that there is an issue we should be working on, it's just categorised that way so we can make solutions based off of specific data groups.
