As if a matriarchy wouldn’t continue the same discrimination and then some. As if a matriarchy wouldn’t continue to draft teenage boys into war, treat them like work slaves, unfairly incarcerate, and shame them for their emotions.

This phrase is just a way of saying “Sure men have it bad too but in the end it’s all really men’s own fault anyways.” They normally insist that all men are inherently privileged, now all of a sudden “men suffer too”? Seriously, don’t let this fake empathy fool you, it’s a manipulation tactic that seeks to get more men to join in on their activism.

It’s sad that the only time you’ll ever see any concern for how society treats men is when it can be used as ammunition in this gender war or the “dismantling of patriarchy”.
