Married for 4 years, 2 young children and wife’s 16 year old.

Wife decided to separate last July of 2023, moved out of our home with the kids and then ended up moving back this past July of 2024.

Part of our separation was the disrespect and attitude from her 16 year old daughter that I refused to accept. About two months after moving back in, it started again with her daughter and we stopped talking to each other. My wife did nothing to sit us down and work it out and allowed her daughter to act how she wanted to me. Shortly after, she has sided with her daughter and began giving me the cold shoulder and stopped talking to me unless it involved our two young children.

I’m not a big drinker and I go to the gym 5 days a week and run 5-6 days a week. With this situation I began to drink more often to combat my depression and she began to record me under the influence of alcohol. It was then I knew she became my enemy and may plan to use the footage against me in court. I also just learned that she has been recorded any conversations we have.

Being we cannot get along at all anymore. I asked that we stay in the house for a few more months so I can save some money to find my own place and put the house on the market and split the equity 50/50 right before the kids finish the school year.

She says she wants a no contest divorce as it will cost too much to have a contested divorce.

My question is, if we come to an agreement regarding child support and custody here in Georgia, can she still use that footage against me in front of a judge or will none of that even be brought up since we both agree to our own terms and the judge will just seal the deal?

She knows I’m a great dad and I’m home with the kids all day (work from home) while she goes out to work and then works from home up to 9pm sometimes spending no time with the kids.

Non contested divorce lawyer costs about $3500 here in GA. I’m hoping that that is all it will cost me to honor separate ways.
