I don't think you're legally obligated to pay CS no matter what state you're in. I was married and had a stepson for 5 years and won't have to pay child support or alimony

If they can't establish that you are the child's father (biological or legal by birth certificate/ adoption paperwork) you should be clear. Still look up your state laws to be safe.

If you didn’t adopt, didn’t sign anything, and didn’t hold yourself out as the father long-term, you likely aren’t liable. But you should still fight any attempt to impose support—don’t assume the judge will automatically see it your way.
