I find it's more often the case that feminists come onto my posts and resort to name calling instead of engaging in a good faith discussion. I will put my hand up and say that I've been closed minded as well in the past at times and I agree it's good for us to be open-minded. It's just also my observation that we do usually seem to be a lot more willing to engage in real discussion than the other side.

I genuinely can't remember the last debate I had with a feminist where she wasn't being openly misandrist, lying about simple facts, or simply immediately resorting to name-calling (incel is one of their favourites that they'll use even when the post has nothing to do with anything an incel would actually complain about).

I mean.. the fact that feminists CAN come into our sub and post what they want and not get instantly banned or censored for what they say is a pretty decent indication that this sub is NOT an echo chamber..

Compare that with most feminist subs where if you post ANYTHING which does not toe the party line.. your post will often be locked, deleted and you will be banned from their sub.

Sure, feminists who post here will face criticism and down votes.. but they won't be outright silenced..
And that's the difference..

Also.. while I agree to an extent with what the OP is saying.. I'm tired of "Walking the tight rope" or "Walking on eggshells" or else risk being labeled an "Incel" or "Misogynist"

I am also tired of men constantly being held to a standard that women refuse to be held too..
Why are we constantly forced to expend more effort to be civil or "Not become an echo chamber" when the same expectation is not enforced on feminists?

I absolutely agree with you - we can't become who we’re fighting.

Sharing from my own experience:
Most feminist subs I’ve seen are not about ideas - they’re about enforcing group identity. Loyalty tests. You’re either with them or against them.

And ,that mindset spills out of these spaces too -

Why aren’t you talking about how many women go through DV?
10,000s more women die at the hands of men; men dying is insignificant.
Misogyny kills. Misandry just irritates.
Women have it worse!

It's just about toeing the party line for them.
Disgraceful.

When we go on their subreddits and are polite and calmly offer facts then they get hysterical and they viciously attack us and swear at us and say they hate all men and they wish our suicide rate would go up and then they permanently ban us. When they come to our subreddit we listen to them and respond with facts in a calm manner and we don't ban them, nor should we ban them. We take the high road yet they take the low road. And somehow we're the bad guys in all of this. It's so messed up. it really is. It's seriously messed up.

No wonder though with reddit banning vast majority of MRA subreddits; everyone interested is swarming to one place. And then it is more emotionally rewarding to write something that is getting a lot of upvotes just because it reiterates what majority of people here feel/think - and that is, sadly, usually not meteorically valid approach.

I'm all for listening to counter arguments made in good faith, but those who aren't already understanding the systemic issues against men and wanting to support men rarely come here in good faith. Most I see here who are not in already fully in support of what this sub is for are only here to hate men, insult those who support men's rights and then act like they won the non-existent argument that was really just a misandrist rant.

I think sometimes it's right to operate from a perspective that is accurate.

There are people out there that are moved to completely disagree with us because they're convinced by other subs that this one is bad. People are already encouraged to repent their contributions here by deleting everything they've ever said here just to be welcome in those places again instead of remain banned.

Arguments from the outside typically allude to: feminism isn't bad, you're just mad. Without ever allowing the possibility that both can be true. They'll sometimes spew the same numbers and statistics at us, and then insult everyone when they realize it won't go the way they hoped.

Losers don't lose because they're wrong, they lose because they're losers. And a lot of the struggle surrounding it is typically choosing between continuing to be a loser, or denouncing who they are to have the opportunity to not be... That isn't right, or a healthy solution for every male that has been marked guilty by society.

We have to stop punching down on ourselves just to look reputable to others... We're here, because they weren't and aren't here for us.

Another problem, is that because this sub is so disliked, most of the people who come here to argue against our opinions or findings, are alt accounts. People you have no real idea of what they truly think, or how they truly feel, but have come to tell you how to think and feel. The same person telling you feminism is great could be someone who lives in that circle on their main account, and is screwing with men for sport because why not? This sub is hated by reddit itself.

That hate needs to be removed before people with differing opinions care to speak with us with enough respect to honor and allow our opinions enough weight to potentially sway them. Without that, we're just losers screaming into a vacuum and they'll always be convinced they're Shepards leading us to the promised land.

I’ve disagreed with opinions in the past and will continue to do so. I’m all for men’s rights and will continue to advocate for men but not at the cost of discontinuing discourse.

The thing about issues related to Men’s Rights is that material is constantly presented to us. Whereas with, say, feminism, they constantly discuss matters based on conjecture that’s upscale and up weighted to include the suffering of every single female that ever lived and ever will by every male that ever existed and ever will.

This. I even upvote a lot of anti-MRA comments here just because I think it's nice that somebody actually wants to have a discussion with us. We should be welcoming of people who come here, most MRAs originally started out as feminists / anti-MRAs.

This is the sub where men come to hear….

Woman = bad
Confirm they shouldn’t even try to date, be alone for ever.

You can’t even put a positive spin on anything without a brigade of downvotes and hateful reactions

This is the sub of men who will tell you there is a risk in going to jail if you just say ‘hi’ to a woman you don’t know.

I’m only here because there are others like me trying to keep this from being a mirror to the most negative feminist subs but it’s there, it’s pretty bad and I routinely get banned from other subs just for being here, but I can help one or two men every once in a while, it’s worth it.

But 99% have given up and want this to be the echo chamber you desire and that’s just the facts.

I’ve received more hate from my fellow man, only trying to help and I’m told off quite often
