Currently the only real socially accepted places is the bar. However I say to approach whenever and wherever you want. That's what I do. Walmart, mall, bar, classes. Doesn't matter. At the end of the day your the only one whose gonna be alone at night, not anyone else

And while I don't make any effort to meet women myself, at my age, my friends only really meet people online, or through friends of friends.

There really isn't a place where everyone just hangs out, that I know of, anyway.

I guess if you don't have friends to connect with others through, your best bet would be an app.

Everyone I know, both men and women, are either always with their partner, working, or being alone these days.

There's bars and pubs, but if you're not the type to enjoy those places, or the type to thrive romantically, I don't think those will be much of an option.

You need some kind of communal hobby that would attract a high percentage of women, time to invest into this hobby, and a certain level of social skills. But if you don't have those, you likely won't find success down this road.

... What some male friends of mine did, was just go on tinder dates with as many women as they could, and just keep doing that until they found one that clicked.

Personally, I think it seemed like a hollow, soul wrenching endeavor. More like a series of interviews for a position than falling in love, but other than that, I don't think there was many options open for them.

I go to bars, my local haunts, or social clubs like co-ed sports and local classes like pottery or music. I'll go out with friends and we'll interact with people through there over drinks or whatever. I met a bunch of people (and subsequently women) at one event where everyone jumped in the lake together every week.

I didn't marry a high school sweetheart either. I'm in my 30s and just started dating someone who I adore.

You're quite young with a lot of world to explore.

I've tried all sorts of places, and here's my experience:

Coed Sports and Exercise Classes: Even if you have a large team or class and a perfect gender ratio. In a room of 10 people there might only be 4-5 women, of which only 1-3 might be single, and then you consider whether there's anything about them that's actually attractive or interesting about them, and then you have to consider the same of them thinking of you.

Speed Dating: I've been to 5 or 6 events. I believe 2 of these events I had absolutely no matches. One event I had two likes, 1 of which never messaged me and I saw her leave the event with another man, the other I wasn't attracted to. The other 2-3 were cancelled.

Bars: Bars seem to skew either older, or for people who just want to go out with friends or the partners they already have.

General Public (in line at restaurants, for example): I've cold approached maybe about 6 people in my life, all of which have been failures.

Always be practicing your social skills and charm. Start chatting with everyone. With cashiers, people in line, people sitting next to you waiting for a show to start. Make little observations about something in the environment.

If they perk up and get engaged then keep talking. If they don't then hopefully you sense that and stop talking before they get annoyed or creeped out (if you're neurodivergent this is, admittedly, much harder).

I've made friends, acquaintances, contacts, drinking buddies, friends with benefits, lovers, and girlfriends this way. If it doesn't go anywhere or people think you're weird or awkward then who cares? You won't see them again. You're just practicing or amusing yourself. You have the right to do that.

If the person you're chatting with happens to be an attractive woman that's great. If you feel like the vibe is good you can ask her for her number or socials. Otherwise you just tell her to have a nice day and leave. There are no expectations or strings attached.

Apart from the "anywhere" answer for where to meet women, I also go to events, meetups (on Facebook or meetup.com), concerts, movie events, mixers, etc. This makes it so you at least have a shared interest with people in the room. People are also more receptive to conversation, depending on the nature of the event. I talk to anyone who looks interesting, man or woman. Get your reps in and always be practicing those social skills.

The vast majority of women have a social mechanism for evaluating potential partners, you'd probably have to be pretty far above average to have much success without the social component, or you'd be coasting on outliers.

The easiest way I've done it is getting on social media and gaining some local influence, followers, attention etc. I've had women contact me first when I used to make posts that get lots of likes (some even being very aggressive) also you want to have pictures that look attractive and active. Otherwise you'll have to go out and make (male) friends first, which is harder than it used to be. Those friends will most likely have female friends they can introduce you to, also people sometimes meet at work/school etc, but it's the same, people usually have mutual friends there.

This is if you are about average looking like me btw.

Tl;dr for if you can’t tell whether an answer is right or wrong: basically anywhere where other people are socializing

Grocery store? Nah, I’ve never been out to a grocery store or gas station to make friends.

A place where a bunch of people are talking that’s not a restaurant? That’ll probably work. It does require a bit of charisma and being a conversationalist, though. An exception might be a bookstore, some women are into that

Gonna have to hard disagree with the people here saying the bars. It’s good for fun and improving your social skills, but you’re not gonna meet your wife there

Some good options are volunteering, libraries or bookstores, malls and parks. Mutual friends works if you have a solid social circle

Nowhere. Introverted so I don't go out much and I never cold approached a woman in my life. Met my wife on a dating app when I was a couple months shy of 30. Before that, it was work but as I moved up this was less reliable as most of my coworkers now are old men and everyone is married.
