Met a woman at my gym yesterday (she’s 32). We had good eye contact and some light tension and ended the first interaction normally, like “I’ll see you around.” As I was leaving I thought I lost my phone, went back, and asked if she could call it. Instead of just using the dial pad, she pulled up her contacts, handed me the phone, and I put my info in; she called it (went to voicemail because I had DND on), we laughed, I found my phone, and that was it. It felt natural, but now I’m second-guessing the follow-up. This would be our first text and I was thinking of something direct like “Hey, it’s ____. We should get a workout in Monday,” but I keep seeing mixed advice about not asking someone to hang out on the first text. Since we already met in person and it’s a gym context, did I mess up by using that to text her first/too soon, or is this pretty normal?
