I am actually exhausted. Not tired as in "bad week", mentally worn down from the years of constant double standards and casual misandry that everyone pretends isn't real.

What really gets to me isn't just that men have problems. It's that our problems are treated by society like a joke, a flaw, or a punishment we somehow earned. There's this whole cultural script in which men are generalized as violent, predatory, incompetent, or morally suspect, and this is framed as "truth" "awareness" or "accountability" Say this stuff about women, and boom, instant understanding of exactly what prejudice looks like.

We are told men have all the power, but men are falling behind in school, dying younger, killing themselves more, still seen and used as disposable cannon fodders, working the most dangerous jobs, and getting less sympathy each year. We're told to "open up" yet when we do it's ignored, minimized, or quietly filed away for use against us later. We are told to "do better" but nobody will ever define what "better" actually means, except that whatever men are doing, they are never doing enough.

And the worst part? The contempt is normalized. Blatant, downright hostility toward men is incentivized. Likes, applause, laughs. You can say authentically hateful things about men and receive absolutely zero pushback. But the moment a man says, "This feels unfair" or "This is hurting me" he's accused of having a victim complex or being fragile incel. Apparently, acknowledging reality is now a moral failing.

Do you remember how everyone stayed silent when #killallmen was trending on social media (unless of course they weren't supporting it)? For years hatred toward men was normalized, nobody cared, and it was deliberately ignored while it grew and became widespread. Today, a woman mocking men’s suicide rates gets nearly a million likes; GIFs and images of decapitated male figures are shared constantly, there are women who literally wear necklaces shaped like hanged men. AND ALL OF THIS IS TREATED AS COMPLETELY NORMAL AND GETS NO BACKLASH WHATSOEVER. In fact, if you do react, you’re the one who gets blamed. Have you noticed that while everything I’m describing has been happening, and continues to happen, while misandry became a widespread trend, nobody cared or pushed back, as if none of this were real or common? But in recent years, the moment men started firing back even a bare fraction of what they’ve received, suddenly “gender wars” became a problem. And of course, you can easily guess which side of this "war" still gets the bigger backlash.

It messes with your head, living under that kind of pressure. Every interaction you start off guilty until proven innocent. Like your humanity is conditional and revocable. Living in a society seeing you as a disposable, dangerous creature and absolutely hates you and your demographic. And it drains you over time. You stop trusting. Stop engaging. Because you're tired of being treated like a problem that needs to be managed.

It’s acceptable to claim it hurts men as well. It’s acceptable to point out the hypocrisy present within it. It’s acceptable to point out the hypocrisy within a society that states equality is maintained, when clearly it dehumanizes men. It’s not misogyny to desire equality either.

If that puts people out of sorts, good. The truth is, silencing the frustration of men hasn’t solved anything; it just causes more men to tune out, shut down, and quietly check out.

Hopefully, in the future, we men will have a greater awareness of all these issues.

I'd like to hear your experiences, feelings, and thoughts on this topic. What does the "future" look like for men, in your opinion?
