Background:

Been with my second wife for over 25 years, no kids. The first 20 years with her were absolutely great. Then came the increasingly dead bedroom that bought me here.

My first marriage was a cheating shit show as chronicled in two prior posts The Cheating Game and The Cheating Game Post Mortem 180. In spite of this, I never cheated on the second wife, until now.

Zombie Awakens:

I have had a lot of fun recently with “catch and release”.

About a month ago, at the local home improvement store, I engage a good looking gal, with a great body. She smiles a lot, eye contact, pushing her hair back..... As we talked she just kept getting closer in, and, kept brushing against and touching me. The more I pulled back, the more she leaned in. Pleasant.

It’s cold and she invites me to her place for coffee. It is a McMansion in a nice neighborhood. She tells me all about herself. She’s 36 yr old SAHM. She’s married to, “a really good guy. He’s a great dad and provider” (she actually used those words). She has a lot of free time before the kids get home from school. She knew I was married.

Couple of hours and a shower later, as she drops me off to my car, gives me her number and asks me to keep in touch.

But Why Now?

This is particularly important when you consider my other recent post that examines my cheating in my first marriage, and yet, I had not cheated in this second marriage. The following are my observations and reasoning about this encounter:

  • Not seeking validation.(Some validation doing a younger woman, but wasn’t seeking it)

  • Not revenge.

  • Not anger

  • Not bored

  • Not horny from deprivation

  • There was attraction.

  • There was desire.

  • There was opportunity.

  • There was fun and hot sex. She was hot.

  • Not looking for anything else from this woman. It is unlikely I will ever contact her again, much less plate her.

I feel absolutely no remorse. It was just attraction, desire and fun sex.

I don’t want to pursue more affairs, per se. I don’t see any reason to stop enjoying flirting, then whatever happens, happens, or not.

Gentlemen, I’ve laid out my field report for you.

If I am my own judge, I have no problem with any of this. I’m questioning if I’ve completely lost my mind, because rather then make a conscious decision, as is my usual method, I just let it happen. What am I missing?
