I'll keep this short, though people with more time may want to expand upon this point.

Sexual strategy praxeology as it currently exists is a set of written materials and heuristics (rules of thumb) born from the experiences of many men and loosely supported by evolutionary psychology/biology. It's called "The Red Pill" but that term has been bastardized by "muh truth" and "muh men's rights" to render it confusing and almost meaningless to people new to the concept.

So now men who have put in the work to improve their sex lives have become salty because of this evolving dynamic. They climbed a mountain of shit with few handholds to remake themselves and had very little to go by beyond source materials and "trading notes." It is the problem of early adoption and pioneering.

Vacuums in efficiency and knowledge beg to be filled, and some have looked upon the boy/girl landscape and have discovered a couple of things. First, men are fucking lazy pussies. Second, men want a problem solved as quickly and efficiently as possible, and if it can be afforded, price is no object.

Tools can be used to build elaborate gazebos or soapboxes. Since some men would rather others wield the hammer, in steps Bob Vila.

The moment Bob arrives on the scene, the guy who has already put half of a deck on his house or framed an incomplete barn immediately gets incredulous and says "look at this fucking guy with the fake belt and ironed jeans." What's worse, Bob is using his personal experience in the construction industry to instruct new builders who have zero experience with tools. Bob provides written and video content, mostly free, some for a low cost. If a man has enough money and desperation, Bob will teach you to use the tools, set up a building plan, and hold you accountable for your project with a community of builders, for a cost that makes laziness sting.

This guidance from Bob elicits various responses: "Respect the hustle." "Masculinity must not be monetized." "Bob is a natural builder." "Fuck this guy, he learned from us." "Shows what you know, you should use a Phillips head screwdriver in that situation." "You are taking advantage of men who are not ready to handle tools." "There are no tools, only pills, spoons, God and philosophy."

The anger of the successful and learning builder is misplaced. He's just pissed that someone is instructing others to do things he finds necessary, but unrewarding. His own unpaid labor (on himself and his "projects") is a source of pride and accomplishment, but he simultaneously wants others to experience his struggle too.

Yes, you cut your teeth by reading all of the theory about building, learning about all of the materials, and experimenting with the tools to see how they are used to fabricate what you want and realize your vision of a finished project. Kudos to you for doing it the hard way.

What does your past work have to do with Bob Vila? Jack shit. So as long as Bob isn't teaching guys to build half-assed, dangerous projects, it affects men already building and renovating in no significant way. Hell, you might learn something novel from Bob to improve your project.
