Here's how this works.

In the past, women had no real social pressure to bring to bear to effect change in their immediate lives. Men collectively did not allow that. Women who went outside of male established social order (the people you said have tics) and rejected common social conditioning were often ostracized. If you've studied history, witch burnings were an example of such ostracism, back when the Catholic Church really had power in the world. In less serious examples they were simple shunned from society, treated as second class citizens, denied a voice in their countries and their local communities. It was not universal, but it was so beyond common that most women who did pass the barriers established by society had their named carved in history one way or another.

Now today, you say men are "not allowed" to speak and what it actually is is that a space has been created where you're not allowed to be an ignorant shit. You're not allowed to talk about what it's like to be a black person if you're white. You don't know. You're not allowed to overwrite their stories with your prejudices and oversimplifications. And everyone abides by these rules willingly. The same as you might abide by your family's rule of "don't date non whites". So it's not that men aren't allowed to not talk in feminist spaces. Though there are some women only groups, just as there are men only groups. It's that men aren't allowed to be ignorant shits who refuse to listen, respond to evidence, and give due validation to the experiences of other people. The same validation they'd expect for themselves.

It's true. There are millions of men in this country and the world who are dead set on not letting go of privilege. Not letting go of privilege amounts to resorting to hostility and violence to get their way. That's why 70 percent of the terrorist attacks on American soil in the last 40 years have been white men, almost all right wing extremists of some variety.

Doesn't make any of you right. You want to know why men don't leave, it's because your spaces are anti-intellectual, hostile, resentful, emotionally immature, and all around full of the social dynamics we all thought we left behind when we graduated high school. No one leaves because none of us want to hang out with any of you. These are our people. And we'd be happy to let yall have yours if you didn't want to scapegoat military spending and corporate tax cuts on social programs and immigrants and refuse as an entire body to even learn enough economics to see through the goddamn bullshit.

We'd let you all go be happy tailgating and treating the women who agree to hang out with you like shit if you didn't spill over onto people who do not want it and do not appreciate the way yall are willing too treat each other in day to day interaction. You want your pussy grabbed by trump put on a fucking shirt that says so and don't treat anyone not wearing your shirt like they deserve it want it or not.

But that kinda basic humanity and empathy and care for the experience of others is not your thing. And we get that, but it's not your thing because you're all emotionally stunted man and women children without the critical thought to overcome your conditioning or see your lives on the outside for one second. Broken people who's ideology is self reinforcing and fact resistant. It has been proven in studies that the religious often become more faithful rather than less in the face of facts that counter their beliefs.

Right wing beliefs behave in the exact same manner. It is a self reinforcing ideology of irrational ideas and conclusions and awful logic thrown together to make people stupid and unaware and keep them that way.

It is also a studied fact that people who watch Fox News are less accurately informed about factual world events than people who watch no news. That happened and none of you stopped watching it. Because in the end it's not about being right. It's about being validated and enabled.

And right wing cultures enables you to be children forever. That's what it's about. Emotionally speaking you are all horribly immature. From a clinical perspective, stunted by societal conditioning away from healthy emotional behaviors and towards maladaptive neurosis.

That's why it seems like we have a tic, to you. Because you can tell that we fundamentally live in a different reality than you do in ways you can't really quantify or understand.

We can. We're the fact based ones. We've been studying you for years. Right wing ideology is pretty easy to quantify objectively. They use hate and fear to bind you all together against one common enemy after another and you go along with it because the fear they make you feel tells you that you are special and you are losing things you don't deserve to lose and it's not right.

It's pretty simple. They play on your emotions because you suspend your disbelief endlessly. They trained you to sit up and bark when they point at immigrants or gay people or women. And to bark at those people whether they point or not, like it was your idea. Like you were born racist, antifeminist, etc. Like babies come out giving a fuck about what gender the next baby over identifies as or has for a skin color.

You don't get it. Your community is a pool of toxic childish behavior and beliefs that we want no part of. Why don't we leave? Because none of us want to spend one second choking down actual social interaction and attempts to form trust with people who blindly hate in the face of a world full of evidence of why it's fucking stupid and they should stop.

I think a lot of the men who are saying this live within a demographic where any criticism of women is considered tactless and deeply offense while the reverse is certainly not true. It would appear that women are allowed to make digs at men while men can’t get away with it without some kind of social backlash.

I’m classical liberal -ish. I live in a conservative area.

To me it seems like this whole issue is an issue about bringing your politics into your workplace. For me, if I ever talk politics at work I either (1) act ignorant (which really isn’t much of an act tbh) and let people inform me or (2) make jokes and non sequiturs

Frankly though I don’t care to discuss this stuff at work. I’d rather not pollute that space or those relationships with the drama of politics. I judge people who bring too much of any kind of politics into that space, hell even if they agree with me

Just today I was on a FB forum from my old school when someone had posted a picture of a poster that was put up on campus saying "it's ok to be white" this obviously was very inflammatory to a bunch of kids at the school, and I really wanted to argue with a few of them.

I also work for a well known but small company and it's published all over my FB so in the end I'm more worried about people from school contacting my company to tell them I'm a racist because of what I post. I agree that isnt the likely scenario they would probably just argue back but it is 100% not far fetched in this SJW age.

I wouldnt even really call it a leftist college either it's a damn 70% engineering school but yes ultimately the fault of leftists.

I am a liberal in a conservative enclave. I am not super into discussing politics but once in a while somebody will call me a communist or a socialist and I am like okay. I don't criticize the sky man because people would flip about that and it is not the sky man I have a problem with anyway. I agree you don't want to live in liberal land GTFO. I stay in redneck sky man land because I have a decent job and I can afford a house whereas in liberal foo foo land I would be in a shit apartment listening to people talk about farmer's markets and craft beer and I am not that kind of liberal.
