Something about an "asshole" impresses a woman, whether it is his great looks, his cocky sense of humor, the fact that he's the star on the football team, etc. It does have something to do with the man because something about that man is triggering that emotional response. What nice guys get wrong is that they have no qualities that really impress the type of woman who they are trying to impress.

So liking people who are nice to you and disliking people who are assholes to you is "narcissistic". Got it.

Heres the thing because her interest is driven by emotion her reaction to a man does not have to be driven by positive emotion this is why you have women who will respond to an asshole even though she may truly want a nice guy.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of these instances are of women, typically more traditionally leaning ones who prefer "Alpha" males, mistaking egotistical behavior for confidence.

But what’s actually happening is that she is emotionally rapt, Guys don’t understand this at all in their eyes it seems as if shes opting for assholes but what shes really opting for is emotional stimulation.

You can easily get emotional stimulation from reading a book, watching a movie, talking to friends, or even playing with pets. The idea that someone is so utterly consumed with giving attention to a dude because he's "giving her emotional stimulation" that she fails to realize he's a douchebag is sad. Not saying there aren't women like this out there, but they basically sound like they have the IQ of a goldfish. Maybe a fun date to her would be watching the tumble cycle at a laundromat...

There is both a logical and emotional component to decision making in both genders. For instance, a man might get mad and act on emotions instead of relying on logic.

Women probably place more emphasis on emotions than men but they also rely on logic when deciding how to behave around men. For instance, she is not going to just go home with a man she just met after 5 minutes just because he makes her feel strong emotions.

What guys don’t understand is how to properly mix both logic and emotion. They often go for 100% logic and treat interacting with a woman like an interaction they would have with a male co-worker.

There is valid advice in using emotions while interacting with women. You shouldn’t just ask interview style questions (what do you do, where are you from, etc.) because that is boring. You need to interact in a way that stimulates some emotional reaction in her.

However, the key is to mix emotions into the interaction in a socially calibrated way. Throwing in an emotional spike at the right time can cause a great reaction but if the entire interaction is emotional spikes you’ll cause an overdose. If all you do is generate emotional reactions you’re basically acting like a clown does by always telling jokes. It is entertaining but you aren’t satisfying base logical needs (like would I be safe with this guy) which will prevent the interaction from progressing.
