Actually, where I live, you still get divorce raped. A friend of mine makes 75k, and his ex wife is on the sunshine list, making 190k a year. She divorced him, he fought for custody, he didn't get it (women get custody in 81% of cases in my area), he now pays 40% of every penny he gets to child support and is forced to pay for the nanny and sports. All this, while only getting visitation 2 weekends a month and dealing with his little boy who cries to him telling him that all his mother and her boyfriend ever do is yell at him and how he can't wait until he's old enough for the court to let him move in with his father.

In terms of marrying a richer woman, the answer is no. At any time she can decide to stop working then it's divorce rape.

I’m a good looking guy.

But this wouldn’t ever happen. Sure I’d like to, but realistically it’ll never happen. But if it was the same as when good looking women land a slightly above average looking guy who makes money, obviously. But again it’ll never happen, women can’t mentally handle making more money than there guy if they’re around the same looks wise.

That 40% breadwinner stat includes single moms....

So she could hold it over my head for the rest of the marriage and then divorce me anyway? Sure I won't get divorce raped as hard as I would otherwise but it's still divorce, an unpleasant process that makes your whole marriage a waste of time in retrospect.

No. I'm against marriage for more reasons than just the risk of divorce for one thing. I fundamentally don't believe it should be necessary to get the state involved in your personal romantic relationship nor do I think we should need a legal document to declare commitment.

As for the divorce angle, I know this would mean I'd be quids in if we divorced, but it's not only about the financial side of things either. Divorce is the top factor in suicide risk. I've been suicidal before over much less. I ain't gambling my life over some girl.

No. Everyone would be constantly convincing her that I'm bad pick because she has more money than me, most women eventually capitulate to that and even though I'm not getting "divorce-raped", it's still an avoidable divorce by just not entering the relationship in the first place

Realistically not likely. Woman's incomes generally max out at the UMC range; doctor, lawyer, etc It would take more than that. The few female entrepreneurs that are highly successful tend to be disagreeable as hell. There are heiresses but most of them will be marrying old money. If I could get one sure, count me in.

Why would a woman richer than me want to marry me unless I was offering her something that can't be obtained by wealth? (Eg. Being very goodlooking and tall, having a large penis, etc.)

I don't want any women's money. As long as there are fair laws, and a prenup I wouldn't be opposed. Being richer than me would certainly take down some of the risk.

Let's be honest though, unless I trade my looks to marry down physically I won't meet women like that. I have already dated a few women with that kind of dough and they don't looks match me as much as I would like.

Your proposal makes that as impossible to achieve as marrying any modern woman would.

Marriage is finished as an institution in feminist societies. You can't revive it by going against fundamental human nature.

I'm not against marriage per se -- so if you're going to do it might was well marry a good one.

The only issue is the power dynamic. If one partner is much richer than the other they'll have more power. If they chose to exercise that power that could be a problem.
