What do you suggest a woman should do in the case of “alpha widowhood”

This has nothing to do with the man and everything to do with the woman. If the woman has highly romantic ideals, she will build up the guy to be her soulmate and the one and only solution to all her problems. If the relationship never actualizes or ends before reality forces her to see him as an imperfect being, she will keep this idealized image of him in her head. In addition there is the phenomenon of 'wanting what she can't have' that makes the subject of her desire even more appealing. No man will measure up because no man can compete with a fantasy.

It's basically a case of extreme oneitis. I am not sure why TRP uses different terminology for men and women because it's the same thing.

Most betas have very strong paths in life. The society wouldn't function without them.

There is no cure for alpha widowhood. Just wish these creatures were easier to identify. So many betas would be saved.

What makes you so sure that "alpha widowhood" is caused by the woman having dated this particular alpha guy? What if the woman just has certain standards and always had these standards? It could go back to the way she interacted with her parents. I know a woman who turned down about three other guys prior to dating this alpha guy that she got stuck on. I think she just didn't feel the need to be in a relationship all the time. Some women want to be in a relationship all the time, or really want to be in a stable LTR. Others are fine with dating the occasional alpha every few years and don't mind the dry spells in between.

Ok, I'll try and look at 3 types of women that would probably be described by TRP as "alpha widows":

1) The type that thinks if he's not a thug or an aggressive/abusive meathead he's not a Real Man(TM) (basically this is most black single moms in the US). Usually this woman grewp up in an abusive home and/or the ghetto. These women might be satisfied with a tough guy soldier or cop, if not, they need years of therapy and introspection, which are not guaranteed to work.

2) The type that doesn't really like the "bad" part about bad boys but she just wants men who are significantly better looking than what she could realistically get from good men, and now can't go back to liking men on her own level. She can only capture low status good-looking men, aka the bad boys. If there are easy things she can fix like her weight she can go for higher status good-looking men, if it's not so much about her looks but the fact she's a single mom then she needs to wait a few years (and get her life on track) and the pool of divorced/single dads who are good men will increase. If it's really about the looks and she's already looksmaxed then she's SOL, maybe self-imposed celibacy for a few years will work, but I doubt it.

3) The type that is addicted to drama. She probably needs meds, in some cases she can turn her addiction to drama into an addiction to other exciting, but relatively harmless things, like basejumping, and date a man who is into that. But she probably needs meds.

RP simultaneously holds two opposing views of women. (And because AWALT, they must apply to every single woman on the planet, without exception!) (Cognitive dissonance clearly isn't their strong suit.)

One view is that women who don't land the 'Alpha' of their dreams will pine for him forever and be 'Alpha widowed' as a result. The other is that women are heartless mercenaries, 'war brides' who, if parted from their true love, rebound in the blink of an eye and quickly pair up with some other man.

So, which is it, guys?
