The dominants I've met tend to fall into a couple of groups.

She knows what she's doing, and can mentor/guide those who don't. This type is often likely to be promoted to her position.
She's a dark triad train wreck who can't handle anyone else.
INTJ. Just INTJ. They know what they want, and heaven help you, if you aren't part of the plan.
Power kink. A power imbalance just works for her. It doesn't matter whether she's the one with the power over someone she's attracted to, or she's the one overwhelmed.
She's just turned on by someone being turned on by her. She's incredibly flexible - think Terminator 2, except with way more overt orgasms.
She is called to leadership, and anyone in her way is a rival. Really relates to Game of Thrones.

The submissives are equally varied.

Admits flaws, and needs guidance. Most men and women have been here at some point in their lives.
Has no personal boundaries or self-respect at all. A dysfunctional co-dependency is a huge step up for them.
Every competent planner could use an extra set of equally competent hands.
Power kink.
Exactly the same as the dominant type.
Someone who believes in the leader. Whether a second in command, or just someone they can let their guard down around, they're an essential part of their rise to power.

I knew a guy. Someone at BBC made a documentary about him, which wasn't aired because it was "too controversial" or some nonsense. He taught dominance in a way I always adhere to. These are the rules:

You make the slave do what it needs, not what it wants, not even what you want. Many mistresses think slave jobs is to lay under the queening chair while they play idly with their iphone, and masters think slaves job is to wake them up with a blowjob every day. If you're within those two frameworks, you are truly being dominant and someone is truly being submissive. Most of the shit people are into is just games that feel dangerous or dirty or something, and analingus is surely cheaper for those kinds of thrills.

I'm not dominant and have no wish to be. I'm not submissive either. Neither are any of my current or previous girlfriends/wives. I mainly just do whatever the hell I want, but I have absolutely no interest in micromanaging her life either. So she can pretty much do what she wants also. The few girls who have tried to tell me what I could do either quickly cut that shit out, or were replaced.

This idea that everything must be a power struggle is something trp borrowed from feminism.

So I made a comment earlier that for different people dominance looks different and so does submission. This is a rough idea but maybe we can flesh it out a bit. Do you all notice these? Do you have other models?

Submission:

These last two tend to come with higher status and more dominant men but don't have to by any means. Plenty of dominant men for example plan jack shit.

In the only study I read on the subject of dominance and its impact on male attractiveness, it was defined as:

"Powerful, commanding, authoritative, high in control, masterful, ascendant ; (not aggression or domineering)."

Basically, someone who could be a leader due to being skilled in some way.

The real question is how to actually utilize this in a typical TRP/PUA setting where you meet people who don't know anything about you in a public setting (likely with loud music and commotion all around) and have to demonstrate this "dominance" in a way that will generate attraction.

Easy going and submissive are not the same or even really related. You can be easy going, because you don't actually care whether things go one way or the other. But when we refer to things you actually care about, you change demeanor.
