If a poster puts up a theoretical post about holding frame, are other posters free to respond by ignoring her OP about frame and instead post exclusively about the person?

Example: "You only say that because you're an obese post-wall feminist who's pining for the days she used to suck a new cock every day on the carousel"

Me, I say that is a blatant ad hominem and merits immediate deletion and a 3 day ban. Making shit personal and refusing to engage with a non-personalized OP is clear violation of all rules of debate.

But it seems some mods disagree, if recent events are a guide.

Can you clarify the position on deliberately engaging in ad hominems as a matter of urgency?
