I've got lots of friends who I'd never want to be in a relationship with. I've got friends who I tried being in a relationship with and we went back to friends because the romantic relationship wasn't working. And yes, I, the man, was the one who ended the romantic relationship.

Typically you're friends with people because you share similar interests, similar personalities, similar sense of humor ect. I think most men would want to be in a serious relationship with someone who has qualities similar to themselves. There are a lot of beta orbiters out there who become "friends" with girls in order to get to know them better and hope that it leads into a romantic relationship.

No. if I am friends with a girl its because I'm not attracted to her. They're attractive as in, when I go out with them I get free drinks because guys offer those drinks to them =D but I do not befriend the women I am attracted to. In real life I avoid every woman I am attracted to. I don't enjoy the feelings and desires of being sexually attracted to someone.

As pathetic as this sounds, I don't really have any female friends. Of course, there are women who I've hung out around before, but I ended up meeting them because they were either (1) friends of my SO at the time or (2) the SO of a male friend at the time. I've never been on a "let's just hang out and do friend stuff" basis with a woman.

However, I've definitely met women who I get along with but wouldn't want a relationship with. I know this girl who's cute and funny but a serious relationship with her would leave me craving other types of fulfillment. She's pretty far toward the hippy-dippy side of the spectrum and I can't imagine us having very much in common aside from a sense of humor. I would fuck her in a second though.

Nope. I don't even see my female friends that way in the first place, we've been friends for so long it'd just be weird honestly. Others just have personality traits I don't like in relationships but am fine with in friends. And others are escorts which is cool and shit but not in an LTR.

Most of my woman friends are women who I went out with once or twice and had no chemistry with but liked them as people so we stayed in contact and hang out occasionally. In all of those situations I wasn't attracted to them, they might not have been attracted to me either but I can't say for sure.

So no, I'm not interested in any of them. Most of them aren't physically attractive to me or have some other deal breaker like too much drinking for me.

Oh hell no. When I was in college, I had attractive female friends that I wouldn't have dated under any circumstances, because their brand of crazy was explosively incompatible with my brand of crazy. Really dear friends, deeply entertaining to hang out with, obviously profoundly bad romantic choices, even for college relationships.

And I also had plenty of female friends I just didn't find that attractive, for one reason or another.

Seriously, most reasonably average guys actually have some choice in who they date. So why wouldn't they be a bit a selective?

I recently had this discussion with my friends. We were also split on that topic. From what we concluded men from our group who have more relationships, and only meet women to date, believe women and men can't be friends. It is mostly because they can't imagine themselves just being friends with a woman. Logic is "if I know this woman, and I like her, well then I should be in a relationship with her".

Second group of men are ones who believe women and men can be friends. I fall in that group. I see no reason why should I avoid my female classmates, or not go out with them or do anything if I find they are pleasant company. I am not romantically interested in most of them. I will admit that from time to time I develop romantic interest in a girl, but I keep it as a friendship because for example she has boyfriend. That is quite rare, but happened when only after some time, like 6 months of hanging we just get more and more on the same level.

And just a quick disclaimer: on a purely physical level, I wouldn't say no to sex with most of my female friends. I just would not initiate it. So romantically not interested, physically somewhat.
