If you remember back in 2008, you would see Ron Paul threads and discussions of Libertarianism everywhere on the internet. Now where are those threads? Where was the love for Rand Paul this time around?

I think many Paul supporters got absorbed by Bernie; they just wanted an anti-establishment messiah all along. But the Libertarian Party itself had an actual televised debate this year. I don't think it's becoming less mainstream.

Think about how much TRP (and I) love Vladimir Putin. We have always liked the idea of a powerful, authoritarian despot who doesn't bother with pretensions of democracy.

Putin does very much bother with pretensions of democracy, that's how he stays in power. I like how Western right-wingers imagine him as a bold, audacious leader when in reality he's the biggest panderer in Russia. He's a self-proclaimed liberal, too.

ethno-nationlism can't exist in USA and frankly, probably in very few nations today, 1930's was the last shot at it, it's over boyo. Japan and few other asian nations (and actually a few African nations) can maybe have some sort of quasi-ethno-civic nationalism.

that said, I am not completely against civic nationalism, but cannot completely support it since it is overtaken by white supremacists that want ethnonationalism

With TRPs emphasis on "enlightenment", "reality", and Machiavellianism I think the Alt-Right is where Red Pillers would congregate. The Right puts more weight on facts and logic and hard truths than the Left, and understanding Machiavellianism would make one eschew the mainstream parties because their primary purpose is to seek, gain and hold power rather than govern responsibly and benefit society.

Political reactionary is in direct oppositon to the ideas of "enjoying the decline" / "reject marriage" which both seem to be central to TRP - often also decrying the notion of having children. In reality, trp is one of the most decadent places on reddit. Wallowing in nihilism and sexual libertine sensation seeking - and rejecting any notion of The Collective.

With TRP and the alt-right, if you remind yourself that the views are aspirational, and remember who they're coming from, it's easy to understand why they feel that way. They can't get laid because women suck. They can't get a job because the world is being run by stupid people. Nothing is their fault, and if only the blacks and Mexicans and SJWs would stop holding them back, they'd be on top of the world.

I don't regularly post here but I've read a blogger called JayMan who divided people into clannish and nonclannish demographics. I personally think "HBD" is bullshit, and I don't think clannish vs non-clannish breaks down by culture - but by people within a culture. It seems that TRP, Trump voters, black power "Hoteps" and ISIS are clannish people while "cucked" liberals and feminists are nonclannish.

This is also why they criticize low income areas of Asia and Latin America, their "rival" cultures, with 1950s era stereotypes of Southern Italy. They see these traits in themselves.

Ironically, many immigrants from 'clannish' societies are less clannish than average and therefore more likely to emigrate as well as to "buy into the cathedral" ("Latinx", "Asians 4 Black Lives", Adichie's "We Should All Be Feminists" etc) because they are obviously sick of clannish and rightwing societies.

I think libertarians are nerds, neither clannish nor nonclannish and their arguments tend to get co-opted by either group. People who know what a supply and demand curve is are a vanishingly small minority in any electorate.

Moreover I think that feminism and blue pill is inherently baked-in to outbred societies, most notably Sweden (no offense). There's evidence that women's rights have been big in Scandinavia for a long time.

I think that while some TRPers are just interested in getting laid, Alt Righters are guys with an extra clannish gene who, because of this and / or other issues, don't fit into mainstream Anglo American society. Therefore they look for a fake clan to join like that Viking boxing frat in Virginia that Milo Yiannopoulos kept big upping.

The alt right is to race as TRP was to gender. Both tell a similar narrative through a different lens. I wouldn't be surprised if it kind of starts to come together in a more coherent ideology that is basically directly opposed to social justice (white people are better, men are better, trans people are sick not oppressed, etc).

I used to avoid the "right-wing" label like it was toxic. I thought that avoiding it would help me find common ground with liberals. I would stress the fact that I believe illegal immigrants should be granted amnesty, that the religious right should have no political power, etc.

It did me absolutely no good. For the polite disappointment I received from right wingers for being a social leftist, liberals wanted to draw and quarter me for having the gall to suggest that wealthy people are entitled to their money. I was treated like an idiot and a child.

So fuck that. I now call myself right wing just to make it clear that I want nothing to do with anyone who flaunts their own undeserved sense of moral and intellectual superiority by calling themselves "progressive".

Ron Paul is a neo-confederate authoritarian, as are many of the USA's self-described libertarians. TRP's move from Ron Paul/right-libertarianism to Trump/alt-right is not at all surprising in light of this information.

Libertarian movement is doing fine in GamerGate and YouTube and that won't change.

Yes the TRP always had a lot of overlap with Alt Right and with continuous insanity that is modern feminism which causes hatred and frustration more just want to join the battlefield and completely dismantle feminism.

I predict when feminism will gets a real major blow to itself things will mellow out a bit. With the black movement and women having a bit of reality check and distancing themselves from their ideology the alt right will treat them less like an enemy.

Think in terms of NotYourShield, are they really going to be hated for being minorities? The LGBT already won their important battles and that was with the religious groups. An that is not what this is about.

I don't think that libertarianism has been (pardon the pun) trumped.

For one reason or another, it lost its fad potential and became a bad word. Why? Because liberals absolutely couldn't argue against it and so accused libertarians of being immature, childish, and ignorant instead of debating.

I think TRP still leans libertarian, and not towards authoritarian regimes. It's liberals who lean towards authoritarianism.
