Calling ourselves blue pill is a tongue in cheek nod to how RPers perceive us, not an accurate representation of how we view our own beliefs.

It's a mockery of the idea that we're willfully ignorant, not an acceptance that 'taking the red pill' is a move towards enlightenment.

'The Red Pill' is already a fraught metaphor where someone presumes the deep an absolute truth that they hold, specifically that feminists have some sort of supernatural control over the world and that men are second-class citizens. The fact that the creators of the Matrix are trans women points to the ironic ridiculousness of TRP.

That's where you go wrong. TRP picked up the name because they felt like they found some kind of hidden truth. Others, and probably most reds, are not that committed to the metaphor nor how accurate it is. Instead blues just pick up a name that is in opposition, the blue pill. Don't over analyze it.

They call themselves BP because they do not believe that TRP's claims of truth actually reflect reality.

If you visit the Blue pill subreddit, you would notice that it is satire of trp. We don't pretend to give people advice on how ro handle life, it is not even an opposing viewpoint. Just satire and parodies.

I don't identify as any pill but I don't identify as RP because. I don't fit the stereotypes of what women should be and because RP isn't in my self interest.

This seems like a case of taking the "Redpill" metaphor too seriously. In this forum, the Blue Pill represents a more optimistic, idealized view of human nature/existence. Whereas Redpill exposes the "bitter truths" by combining evolutionary psychology, praxeological reasoning from a set of premises, unflattering heuristics, and a disdain for ideals. They chose the brand Redpill due to the feeling of bitter cynicism that erupts when one uncovers "The Truth."

Again, do not look at the metaphors for the Bluepill and Redpill too deeply or too much. We're dealing with brands here. The Nike brand doesn't ensure victory -- the just sell shoes. Redpill doesn't automatically hold enlightenment -- they just sell a perspective. "Bluepill" - in essence - sells an opposing perspective, distant from the metaphor.

Look, dude. The Blue Pill is a satire subreddit. Like the onion or something. It's name is totally arbitrary. If The Red Pill called itself something else the blue pill would call itself something else.

If TRP was "Alpha Monkeys" TBP would be "Beta Frogs" if TRP was Hardcore Bananas TBP would be called Juicy Waffles...like literally it doesn't matter the point is that we think TRP is an awful joke and we choose to make fun of it on an appropriately named subreddit.

Does the blue pill represent ignorance? You can very easily twist it, in fact, they do it in the fucking movie.

Think about if someone came up to you, and with pretty good evidence, tried to show you that you are a brain in a vat, your entire life is an illusion and there is a reality beyond what you perceive. Do you care? You have spent your entire life in the constructed world, your friends, your family, everything. At that point, that construction is your world it isn't "fake."

What is even the point in getting out the matrix? You go and fight robots which are just going to kill you anyway, life on meager rations and day to day. How is that better?

The blue pill represents passivity if anything. Acceptance of your situation and lot, the epitome of "deal with it," it doesn't really matter in the bigger picture.
