I think the reason you get down voted may be because when we talk about this topic it is always about a womens views of a seperate couple. If they are a couple than clearly the girl dating the older guy isn't creeped out by him, so those 2 experiences aren't that related

I guess that girl could still be reminded of past events which could creep her out but its still stupid to verbalize her opinion like it matters or even makes sense in that context

Young woman receiving attention from older men: I see no problem.

Women receiving attention from older men: I see no problem here, but those who date young women are creepy.

Old woman not receiving attention: Men my age who date younger are all creeps preying on children. Pedophiles!

Twist: Was same woman at three points in her life. Creepy is just her way to try to hold onto the attention she never properly locked down.

That and isn't it wrong to shame people for who they are attracted to as long as it is all consensual? And you can't say it isn't consensual just because you think it is wrong!

As for men preying on girls under the age of consent... that is quite different than merely being attracted to young women. But many people try to mix the two of them up in subtle and not so subtle ways as an attempt to shame men who don't date their own age group.

When someone tries to say that men dating younger women is creepy and then defends it by saying she meant dating actual children, I call bullshit. That person clearly knows what they said and were trying to create an association to shame men into dating in their own age range because they know older men have zero reason to do so otherwise.

For example, you using 'younger women' in the title and then bringing up middle school girls.

young women getting unwanted attention from horny old men is usually pretty creepy and a lot more common than the switched genders equivalent. i think itd be pretty difficult to find a 50 year old man that was interested in 19 year olds for their personalities.

im an avid fan of To Catch a Predator. ever notice how theres no equivalent of that show where older women prey on younger dudes/girls? its because they literally couldnt find a single female predator on the internet. the show wasnt written to be all older men, that's just how it happened.

Because people necessarily have a separate set of standards for "their" tribe than they do for "others". Someone else's 14 year old daughter is fair game for me, but I'll kill the 25 year old dude who goes after my pubescent daughter!!!! kinda situation.

I think this is universal-- true empathy for everyone is hard and not something we're well-wired for, imo. I think it's hard for people to admit because empathy is touted as a very admirable quality and to admit that one lacks it is tantamount to admitting that one's character is greatly flawed.
