A 2010 study published in Journal of Marriage and Family found that there was a correlation between female pre-maritial promiscuity and higher rates of divorce. The research, conducted by Jay Teachman, found that women with 16 or more sexual partners prior to marriage had an 80% rate of subsequent divorce.

This does not say that no woman that has slept around can form a lasting relationship, but it does show a trend that indicates lower probabilities.

I don't need a scientific paper to decide every single step in my life. I have felt that it impairs my bonding skills and decided to go long term.

Desensitization of insulin leads to diabetes. Desensitization of oxytocin/vasopressin is supposed to have no effect?

Nofappers often report that fapping impairs their bonding skills.

Food for thought: Not everyone is the same, some have more receptors for some hormones than others. And in generally monogamous mammals you will always find a bunch of non settling promiscuous individuals. Some people maybe don't impair their bonding skills by sleeping around, maybe they generally lack that ability to begin with, in that case past promiscuity could be a warning sign that these people are bad at bonding.

There just came up with a new plausible explanation for this phenomenon.

Because that is what we do. We observe some behavior, in that case high N count makes bad partners. Then we come up with plausible explanations, and maybe find some scientific papers that support the view.

In a partner, I want someone who shares the same values and I value deep, committed relationships.

Once a man has experienced variety it would be very hard, almost impossible, to transition to being stuck to just one woman. He not only loses the variety, but also the thrill of the chase.

I'm incredibly turned off by it. For reference, I also have a low count. I suspect this is another case of like attracts like.

I don't know where red pill gets the idea that women like players due to the fact they have had sex with lots of women. In my experience, women have only spoken poorly of these types of men.

It turns me off in a serious way. It means that their views on sex and intimacy are completely different than mine.

When RPers go on rants about they feel like women with high partner counts can't pair bond, I feel the same way about men.

I might be a little turned off if it was ridiculously high, because it would make me think we have different values and different goals. Admittedly, I'd probably stereotype him a bit because I'd want to make sure he wasn't some "player" using women for sex.

If he has a large amount (10+) of only ONS in his sexual history...then yeah. To me, that just shows he views sex as a form of entertainment. I'd think the same about a woman with that number.

n inability to form strong committed relationships, or a lack of interest in committed relationships are both unattractive to me, and matter more than the number of previous women a man has slept with. I think a specific N count merely reflects one of those possibilities (lack of ability, or lack of interest) to a certain extent.

I am going to present a different perspective on this.

Since you can never 100% verify N-count, beyond any doubt, it's meaningless to judge by it. You can never absolutely know how many men a girl has slept with.

What I do, is judge by behavior, and the differences in behavior between me and how she behaves with other men.

Example:

A girl has lots of party pictures on her FB. Pics of grinding with guys, kissing them, lots of bikini pictures, etc. If this girl tells me she she doesn't kiss on the first date, or isn't the kind of girl that does "wild" stuff, thats a red flag. She is treating me with less sexual desire than other guys, AKA see's me as a provider.

I think it's a correlation not causation problem.

People who have trouble creating a lasting bond have a lot of relationships, not necessarily that having a lot of relationships makes you not able to create a lasting bond.

There's some undefined factors here.

There's a higher probability of infidelity for both genders when they have a history of promiscuity. Even higher when there's a history of infidelity.
