Women are put off by quiet, shy men in general. But I would say if you are high functioning and you're the type of autistic that doesn't know when to shut the fuck up then you are more likely to be seen as annoying than repulsive.

I hate saying women (or men) do anything in general since every one is unique. I don't mind men with autism. The last guy I dated had undiagnosed autism, and I adjusted by being very direct about what I expected or wanted, since hints would have gone over his head. At 1 year, it was the longest relationship he'd ever had (by his 50s), and I think it was because I took that approach (as well as noticing and adjusting for some sensory issues he had). He also had diagnosed bipolar disorder and low self esteem, which in the long run, were what made me break it off. Sweet guy, despite those issues, but I wasn't up to his mood swings.

Hmm, I haven't noticed it specifically to the term autism, but I have noticed that men who are low energy, apathetic, or have an autistically leaning personality, usually get little female attention.

From what I've seen they tend to be bothered by it, yes.

One of my close friends is autistic and the tragic part about him is that he really believes he hides it well and won't hear anyone's attempts to explain to him that he doesn't. Funny walk, talks too loud and too long on obscure topics, etc. He is an incredible artist and a loyal friend so he's awesome to have around but his success with women is abysmal at best.

I've asked several of them why and those that are more blunt but unaware of his autism will say shit about how he's not quite right, how he misses little things, how he assumes that, no matter what, anything he plans is going to work. Towards that same end, when something he plans fails he breaks down and throws what looks a lot like a poorly contained tantrum. One even said, only to have her two friends nod in agreement, that he just seems wrong on some deeper, almost genetic level.

Maybe they just smell that he's not safe to breed with or something. I don't know.

He actually stands as one example against a lot of Red Pill ideology because the dude is well-built, in excellent shape and very handsome. That said, his social woes are so severe that it doesn't even matter.

I can't speak to it any more because the only other autistic people I know are women and, being women, they get laid as much or as little as they choose to and even the most off-putting of them does fine in that regard.

As someone working the field who has had many conversations about autism, it is VERY misunderstood. I hear all sorts of definitions.

Additionally there is a huuuuge spectrum.

As others have said, I think the stigma works against you. The misinformation. The fact that people don't understand that people with autism fall anywhere along a huge spectrum. It all makes for a bad first impression and a bad impression of autism.

That being said, people with autism who are high functioning or who have learned to successfully function in society should be able to have a normal relationship. Obviously some cases will cause difficulty with relationships.

But overall I would say no, women are not repulsed by autistic men. Society in general has a warped perspective on autism.

TLDR; Women are repulsed by autism, not by autistic men.

No, not because their autistic but because their autism causes them to miss social cues that normies wouldn't. i have friends with Aspergers. they have very linear thinking. as in: i'm am going from a to b in a straight line and nothing will cause me to deviate from my course not walls, traffic, planes, artillery, and definitely not social ques. IME most people with aspergers i know view social ques like a inefficiency like robber baron taking away worker lunch break to make them more efficient. that can be very off putting in normal circumstances and in romantic ones.... well i can very easily see how some one with aspergers could misread the world and become red pill simply because they dont get social cues. Like for example an aspie goes to aporach a woman but has typical social failings that aspies tend to have, brusk, to the point, mechanical, not fluid social skills. this immediately raises puts off the woman and puts her on the defensive. then she feeling threaten gives of certain vibes or is shitty to our aspie friend. the aspie never quite getting what he is doing wrong and goes online find out and finds the red pill with a whole hoard of people just like him. their angry and they are telling each other that its the women that are the problem not them (which sort makes them feel better even though it not really accurate). they get their biases confirmed. along the way they learn how to flirt from books and videos. they learn the art of conversation and how to approach a woman with out coming off weird. they still have their core issues but they learned to paint over them at least long enough to get laid. but in long term setting they still struggle to keep their shit together. thats why you see so many twerp complaining about having to keep frame and complaining about being you self. most people can get laid and get a girl friend with out having to change themselves all that much past getting in shape or dropping some bad habbits with out radically changing them self in to a whole new person.

I dated a guy with autism. I wasn't put off by the diagnosis, or his shyness (I like shy guys). I was repulsed when he did things which embarrassed me in public, and sometimes I felt like his mom - and nothing is less attractive than feeling like a guy's mom! So, after dating one guy with autism, I would be hesitant to do it again.

I'm pretty sure autistic women don't exactly have hordes of men willing to date them either. Heck, on AskMen one of the most common dealbreakers I see is having anxiety or depression, or have had them at some point of your life, and autism is certainly something bigger.

This is just one more attempt to make women look evil, while men are no different.

Autism is a tremendously wide spectrum to be digesting here. In my opinion however, people diagnosed with autism are no less capable of self-improving and attracting a female as anyone else unless it is a really severe case.

However, autism itself bears social stigma. Not your fault but I would not advertise the fact because many people will be judgmental on the fact instead of giving you a fair shot.

My brother is autistic and he is VERY succesful with women. Here's the thing though, he is gay. He always killed it with women, had mad game, always knew what to say - but this whole time I didn't realise he was gay.

This is a key part, he never wanted a women's attention, he never NEEDED her validation, and so despite being autistic HE KILLED IT.

He may be autistic, but he is also very smart, so instead of having natural feeling to do something in a social situation, he learnt what to do. He also has 0 fear of public speaking and will happily strike up a conversation with anyone on the street, 80 yr old man, 22 yr old women, he doesn't care. He's been doing it so long he socializes better than 95% of men out there.

Obviously he never slept with a women, or kissed on, but he'd always have 2-3 girls following him around the playground, and later at parties he'd easily get a group of 5-6 women hanging off his every word, making them laugh and they will just be enraptured. He has 0 dependency, not just because they're women, but because he simply doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks of him. He's also pretty ugly (sorry bro) but he is really light hearted and would probably just laugh at any insult you threw at him.

Success with women = being laid back and outcome depedent.

If a women see's a struggling man who is down then out SHE CANNOT RESIST going in for the kill.

I don't mock people, but having a sample size of one, where my first "relationship" was with a guy with Asperger, I would say that no, I am not attracted by autistic guys. Maybe we just weren't genetically suited... but even at the time, when I was extremely low in self esteem and desperate for a relationship AND had a suspicion I was autistic (I wasn't, just badly socialized homeschooler), I could not help noticing how there never seemed to be any genuine feeling for me. Like, I was a cool new audience for his ideas/rants, and someone to throw generic gifts and compliments to at predetermined times, but there was absolutely no sexual feeling at all. At one point I overheard him talking on the phone to his mother where she was coaching him on what to do next. I felt bad, but I couldn't have a relationship with someone who was so dependent on outside help. I want to have kids and an adult life with a partner that I can lean on sometimes. My SO now has mental health issues, but we're more on a similar footing and, importantly, I can see on his face when he's thinking lusty thoughts about me.

I would not say autism is a death sentence, but I would say it's something to work hard to get around. Eat paleo, spend a lot of time with animals to help rewire your circuitry a bit, cultivate a social life, enjoy your strengths while recognizing your weaknesses, and get a lot of exercise...

Most nonautistic people find autistic people repulsive. That's the reasoning behind a lot of the diagnostic criteria: they're traits that aren't harmful in themselves (seriously, who gives a shit about my repetitive hand motions?) but that nonautistic people find repulsive.

However, some nonautistic people don't find autistic people repulsive, and you can always date other autistics. I personally recommend trying to view it as ableist fucks helpfully filtering themselves out of your dating pool for you.

As someone with autism i'd agree that their is a stigma against it, people WILL treat you differently so I never bother telling anyone.

On the other hand I do fine with women and find that inability to swallow some bullshit has saved me in the past,I find if it does no compute don't let it fly.

Depending on the autistic they could have great potential as one 'symptom' of autisitics that is common is that they can be for want of a better word very 'macho'.

I've found being perfectly content doing my own thing/being alone for extended periods of time has put me in good stead, I don't come off as needy for one thing.

Trp actually helped me in that it taught me that it's okay to ut me first and just be honest with what I want/don't want.

Also I loathe the word 'aspie'

I think its really a matter of birds-of-a-feather-flock-together.

Let's presume that the autism spectrum is, in many ways, really the "extreme end" of what Meyers-Briggs fans would describe as the "NT temperament" (or rational). NTs, particularly INTs, are generally nerdy and whilst they get along fantastically with each other they don't get along well with non-NTs (people get along best with those of their own core temperament since they can relate easily).

NTs are statistically the rarest of the four core temperaments. In addition, NTs do skew disproportionately male (although NTs are still a minority even amongst males).

So I don't think its about women per se being sexually repulsed by autistic men... its really about the fact that NTs are a minority and we live in a world where SF temperaments are most common (I think this is true also about INTs vs. ESFs). Due to the fact that people get along best with people who share their core temperament, NTs (particularly INTs) are predisposed to have less friends and get along with less people. If autism is just extreme INT-ness, well the same principle applies.

Obviously this will impact on one's romantic success. If you can't relate well to "conventional" people, you're not going to be good at getting sex with them unless you're physically very hot and can act conventional enough to fool them.

But I'd argue loathing of NTs (particularly INTs), and thus people with certain autistic traits, is bigendered. Sure, women do it, but so do the jocks who stuff nerds (almost always INTs) into lockers.

I am highly emotional and need a lot of comfort and understanding. I have 2 Anxiety Disorders with mixed depressive symptoms, an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and ADHD. I myself am hard to deal with. I perfectly understand that I'm not the healthiest person to be around. Which is fine because I like to be alone anyway.

I have this gift for being able to tell autistic people by looks and I stay faaaaaaaaaaaaaar the fuck away from them. They annoy the hell out of me. Hiding it won't work. I can tell. I live in a neighbourhood with a high autistic population. I know what it's like.

Neighbor opposite me tried to be friends with me. I told her I wasn't into it. She had a sensory overload so bad the next day they had cops and the ambulance come over.

I'm not dealing with shit like that.

It's not healthy. It's not normal. It's against human instincts.
