Well, they obviously didn't find him attractive, or they would've messaged back. If he's batting 0 for 100, chances are he's either overestimating his own attractiveness (and therefore punching well above his weight) or somehow being off-putting in his messages/profile.

I think this website should be renamed Plenty of Female Social Retards. And to all the women I have emailed who have not bothered to give a great guy a chance, or even an response, you really do deserve someone as ignorant as yourselves.

As he said previously on the forum, women get messaged a lot. It's really impossible to message back and give a chance with every man. Most women don't use those websites to actively find someone. Especially a free one. They just make a profile and will only message back men who are exceptional. Over 6 foot, 100k salary model, etc.

He just need to accept the fact the he is a buyer in the market.

Meet women in person. Online dating is like submitting your resume on Monster. Sure, spend 5 minutes a day doing it, but don't realistically expect results.

Most women don't need online dating to find willing partners. The internet is just one more outlet for attention, but not one that they take seriously. So don't take it seriously either.

The two biggest complaints women seem to make about on-line dating is -

Why don't they read my preferences before contacting me? And this most often relates to age. Women strongly prefer dating men close to their own age.
Why can't they have an interesting conversation with me? If they can't create an interesting discussion over the internet, why would anyone want to date them? Lot's of contacts seem to consist of "Hi!" and nothing else.

He needs PUA/TRP stat. Clearly operates under the delusion that there are lots of thirsty women in online dating who are like female versions of himself, when in fact that doesn't exist. The online dating market is pretty vicious for non top 10% men.

I hate when guys say "why can't you politely tell Us you're not interested?!" I tried saying no thank you to people when I was on a dating site for a bit and it would get met with "Fuck you you're not that hot anyway" "you're a bitch" "must be nice to get your choice" or the equally disturbing "but whyyyyyyy wanhhhhh"

Don't use dating sites because the 80/20 principle is so obviously in effect on these sites. I don't believe that the principle is in effect as much in real life as many guys say it is, because 20% of men can't realistically give their attention to 80% of the women in the relationship market in real life (the casual sex market is probably a different story, though, but I have no interest in this market). So if you want to meet women for relationships (and I'm not sure this guy even wants to), either find them in real life, or find them on online websites in which you share a similar interest rather than on a general dating site.

You know how there's that informal rule that if you work at home you probably should still dress business casual and set yourself a start and finish time? And how housekeeping sites suggest stay at home spouses get up and dress fully in preparation for the day even if schlubbing around in your PJs until 3pm is do-able...because if you're fully dressed you will do more varied things and not hesitate to leave the house or mop the floor? Well fuck, he's just made me think if you look for dates at home via the internet it might be a good idea to take a shower, brush your teeth, shave, and put on an acceptable shirt and trousers first. Because then instead of sitting round complaining about how none of the 100 women you contacted have replied, you can easily get the heck up off your fat arse and go do something else that might actually be useful.

He's pedestalizing these women, who he only knows as some photos and some text on a website. One piece of advice is to stop giving so much of a fuck, message a bunch of women with witty/rude/crude/goofy and short messages, and see if he can set up some dates. He's almost there:

I'd love to see what his "polite" messages were but dollars to donuts they were boring as fuck and long as fuck and betrayed desperation. Women are inundated with attention in online dating, they don't have time to read through paragraphs of your prose.

Instead, try "Hi there. Nice <bullshit in a photo>. What's your name?" and then move the fuck along to the next one. If she replies "Hi! <blah blah about bullshit>. My name's Slutpants! What's yours?", then she's shown she's interested and passed the first compliance test. Bullshit back and forth, meet in real life. If she doesn't? Doesn't what? You've already forgotten about her.

online dating seems sorta weird. ive never done it, but its so impersonal. no need for actual interaction. your only first impression is a little blurb and some cherry-picked photos. i feel like people that are into online dating are waaaay more likely to put potential partners on a pedestal, which is obviously bad news and just makes them feel more rejected when it doesnt work.

I have zero personal experience with online dating as it didn't exist in my dating days. It does seem that 100% of my divorced friends have used it across the 40's and 50's age range and 100% of them had success getting dates and even have kicked off medium term relationships using it. Is this something where it's more effective for older divorced people than younger guys?

That not answering is easier than answering for two reasons:

if you get hundreds of messages a week, it's legitimate to want to minimize the time extended for it.
not all guys who get a polite "no thanks" leave it at that.

I think PoF (or whatever site) shouldn't enable bulk-replies, but rather give the option to autorespond to a mail with some generic "no thank you, not interested"-answer simply by clicking a single button.

MEN are (usually) the one´s who are actively making contact. What do women do? They just sit in judgement saying: Yeah or nay often without even having an interaction!

I would add a small caveat here: Women can sit back in judgment and choose, but they can only choose from among the guys who have expressed interest in them in the first place. If guys weren't so desperate and didn't take the 'shotgun approach', the chance of women replying would also be higher.
