I was recently browsing the RPWomen subreddit and I came across this response to a question raised in that post.

It summarizes what, I believe, is one of my deepest insecurities. I am a female who's struggled with gender identity issues and who is heavily interested in aspiring for an established career in Physics. Despite this, however, I am rather acutely aware of the fact that the world I live in has largely been created and molded by men. I am acutely aware of the fact that almost all of my interests have been pioneered and furthered by men, that the only reason I'm capable of considering a serious career is because men have played a dominant role in creating a world in which it is a possibility, and that a woman's primary role that she feels most fulfilled in (according to this post, and to similar sentiments) is to support men in these ventures. I feel extremely resentful of this - I feel resentful over being a woman, and of the notion that even if I try to break away from the traditional role of raising children and taking care of a husband, that I won't feel happy doing it; that I will simply against the tide that will ultimately win. Redpillers are rather frequently lamenting over how "feminism" is causing women to erroneously change their priorities and escape the fact that women have differing roles to fill.

To be honest, at times I almost feel embarrassed for even trying to go into a largely male dominated career because of the sense that I'm "attempting to be a man". The RP side of things complaining about how women are all trying to be men is getting me down a little and playing into the gender identity aspects. To be clear here, I'm not claiming that just because I feel insecure over this means TRP is incorrect as I agree with much of what that side has to say, and I have absolutely nothing against women who choose traditional roles, I'm just plagued by the feeling that because I'm a woman, having these goals means I'll inevitably end up failing because I'm naturally not suited to them. I almost wish I didn't have them, or that I were a man.

I posted this here as I thought it could lead to an interesting discussion. Any thoughts on what the individual in the link posted had to say?
