Thank you for pointing that out. I myself have never really paid attention to other men and never realized why it bothered me a bit when my ex would comment on another women's appearance.
It was never a feeling of jealousy but I now sense that it was disrespect.

Same here. I’ve noticed that men don’t think like this because to a man we are not the love of his life. We’re just “the best he could do right now.” I always see men on social media say that if they’re in a relationship and they find the love of their life or dream girl they’ll leave the relationship immediately. Just goes to show that some men just date us to pass time or to get whatever they can from us. They always keep their options open. Some men truly are selfish.

I can objectively find other men attractive while being in love with a man, but it's not actual attraction and I'd never comment on the hotness of another man with my boyfriend. With a girlfriend maybe, but not with him out of respect.

Me too. It always bothered me to think of telling a boyfriend how sexy another guy was, so I never did it.
Right, I could objectively think "that person is objectively handsome" or "I feel a degree of animal attraction." But if I was in love with someone, they would be THE hottest and I would not feel the need to mention I felt attraction to someone else, as it was negligible and it did not compare.
To me, someone saying "that woman is pretty" (like a flower is pretty) does not hurt as much as "that woman turns me on." When a man comments on another woman's attractiveness, I suspect it is the latter, and it usually is a backhanded way to say "I would choose her over you." It's really messed up... I never made those comments even to men who made me cringe and I was planning to dump.

I feel like some men use this to gauge interest for threesomes. Them pointing out another woman as hot and having their partner agree, in their mind, reads as "she would fuck her too!! This is great for my boner! I can arrange a threesome now!!"

Guys do this so much in many forms. “I like girls with big butts and curves” “I like petite girls” “I like short/tall girls” “I like blondes” and if you are not those things, that’s a neg.

I would just say something like, “I’m glad that we’re so secure we can acknowledge hot people around each other,” and next time I see a guy who’s really attractive, I’d point it out. Either he gets the message and stops, or more likely, he gets insecure and annoyed (because the kind of LVM who does stuff like this have zero self awareness.) If he gets insecure, it’s an automatic bye.

Ahh. One of my male ‘friends’ plans on proposing to his gf next year but this is also the same person who was giving me mixed messages for a while, comments on how random women are “so beautiful” regularly, and once asked me if I “don’t ever just see someone and want to.. does hip thrusting motion”.
