It's the one thing I think RP actually has a point with--but they forget it applies to men too. I see who my male friends date, and who they get hung up on. I see where they hang out, and what they're drawn to.

If they were all secretly social conservatives, as I suspect you're implying, they'd put their money where their mouth is.

Not for random men, of course not. I also don't know what random women have as their morals and values either.

However, all of my guyfriends are extremely open about their beliefs, and will talk about various political or social topics while we're hiking or gaming. It's actually something I try to not get into as much, since I'm a moderate/egalitarian and most of them are very left and diehard feminist. Only my FWB and 1 other friend know my full views and opinions, and that's because they're the same as me. We talk amongst ourselves but generally just nod along with the other guys.

You can tell without a guy saying it directly based on innocuous comments he makes, the type of men he idolizes, his hobbies, how they react to certain political events vs others etc. it’s not as accurate as hearing him say it explicitly but it’s still gives a pretty accurate picture. For example, in my class in AIT for the military no one wanted to really discuss their political leanings or morals and when they started to it was always in a very pc way now everyone is open about it. After everyone started being open about their morals and beliefs in a less pc way every person except one guy thought exactly how I assumed they would. There was one guy who I thought was super conservative politically and morally but I was wrong about him. I think most women do know but choose to stay quiet about it or ignore it because it’s an uncomfortable truth if the men in your life think a certain way. You just accept it and move on.

As a male who's nonconservative, gun-loving, Republican who thinks the government should F--- off who has a ton of liberal friends in person and phone friends, I understand. However, I still mention my opinions around them and because they are my friends, they don't shame me for my views, especially when they are based on logic. They mention their views around me. That's fine, they're entitled to rely on whatever they want to rely on (lol). If people are truly your friends, they won't judge you for something like political beliefs. I think that people don't know how to be friends anymore. I dont have that many friends but the ones I do have are liberals because they have more fun than boring conservatives.

I was out at a bar with some liberal friends and I was florting with a server (can't wait to get flaired in the comments for this). She was flirting back so it was ok. My liberal friend who, for reference is an asexual, anxiety-ridden woman, got mad at me for this. She talked about how creepy (ugly) guys approached her at her job and how weird it made her feel. I respectfully didn't care because her experience was relative. She had just told us a week before that a guy she found attractive approached her at work and she gave him her number. I remembered this and didn't bring it up. I asked her genuinely if it made her uncomfortable and said I would not do it around her. She respected that because I stood my ground and compromised instead.

Its not really specifically men TBH. We all say the things we want to believe. For eg, when I look back I easily blame my past partners. But if I look closely without bias they arent as bad as I am making them in my mind to be. I am not as good as a person I tell myself to be. We all lie mostly to convince ourselves, not others.

For example I usually tell people I like a soft, sensitive feminist man who is open with his emotions. But I am being real except the feminist part rest of them arent really true. I am attracted to confident and strong men. I do feel a little guilty. I want to believe that being good and kind matters to me more than being confident and strong. But it is what it is. I will definitely "like" and appreciate a guy who is kind and soft. I would recommend them to my friends. I would praise them at every chance I get. I would want my boyfriend to be more like him. But I would not be physically attracted to him. Its easier to lie to others when you want to believe it.

Should you happen to express your stance, however, you fool, do expect irrationality, unwillingness (incompetence at?) to cooperate towards beneficial solutions, and what seems to be rampant narcissism, but called "shit testing" and other "solipsistic" "differences", which you, the male, are magically expected to just bow down to, lest you be called ghaiii for your nontelepussysniffy tendencies. HAWDAREYOUism, basically. It might have to do with absolute lack of any kind of physical hardship in life, but they're only 45 years old, barely adult, so give them the time and ~~count~~cannotless chances they deserve, I guess.

Ah, well. Perhaps Darwin will solve that problem. I'll wait and not live long enough to see.

No. Most of the Trumpy types here in the US are too stupid not to share their thoughts so I know what those male aquaintances think. I do not really have male friends because I do not see the piont. I have activity aquaintances like my dog park friends or kayaking and hiking friends and some of them are men. I tend not to bring politics up but some of them have. I hate doing it because once I find out what their thoughts are I tend to think they are nasty and do not want to hang out.

Acting non-judgemental also has a strategic benefit in that you can get women to tell you stuff about them they would probably keep secret otherwise, which is crucial for vetting.

This is a piece of advice that's pure gold.

Never, ever, act judgemental about anything. You can lay down your boundaries (i.e. say that cheating is a very big deal to you; your favorite sex acts are x y z, etc) without being judgmental, by asking in a friendly way (in those 2 scenarios as examples) "have you cheated and why" and "what are some of the most fun sex acts you've done"?

Then they might have some good stories that don't disturb you (i.e. "i like to do x y z tame thing that gets me off, like this one time...") Or stories that do disturb you ("i like to be fake raped and pooped on during sex") and you can make your choice from there, with more objectivism
