Female coding style is a myth, it doesn't exist. Some females code better than men, and I've seen some men who code like monkeys.

What I will discuss is females in general in IT sucks, but it's not just them.

The days of IT being a geek only club, replaced with this new hipster coder vibe and females everywhere in IT have made it just like any other department in a company.

People who're in the game without any real passion. Users who think you're irrelevant and we should just be buying software. No respect anymore because any monkey can code. Lower salaries, more cunts entering ever year because it's better than being an accountant, and fucking scrum / agile aka factory driven development.

I would give a left ball to have things like they were in the old days before these hipsters came and took over.

To be honest, AS EXAMPLES, both are BAD just for different reasons:

The "guy's code" is lacking ANY documentation comments -- no idea who wrote it, or when, and no summary desc line of what the function is SUPPOSED to do (yeah in this case it's a short function, but that's not the point, as another coder, I should NOT have to "guess" the function purpose from the function name, NOR should I have to parse through every fucking one of your functions and play "Mr Computer" to try figure out what they do -- you code like this FUCK YOU -- I mean seriously would it have killed you to add a single comment line saying "Fast inverse square root"?)
The "girl's code" is in many ways far worse... (even ignoring the sheer IDIOCY of returning a "5") -- shitloads of comments, nearly all of then entirely unnecessary... apparently Karlie Kloss gets paid to code by the line (or perhaps has some departmental "lines of code" metric that rewards higher quantities or more comment lines).

Sadly what this demonstrates is that proper documentation of code is still something of an "art" and virtually NO ONE gets it.

Both programmers need to be shot in the face.

One of them has no explanation of what something does or why it does that. Perl programmers are the worst for this because Perl can be done in a way that has tons of assumed values and weird symbols.
The other returns 5 instead of throwing an error.
The comments appear to be written by a mongoloid who needs to be reminded what an integer is.
"if (a > b && b < a)" is probably the worst thing I have seen all day.

It's ok for comments to be funny, but those comments are not funny. They're just stupid.

I was a pretty elegant programmer 30 years ago. I'd come back six months after I finished a project, look at what I'd written, and wonder how in the FUCK I'd come up with the code. Eventually I learned to document and lots of employers require it.

Okay, but to be fair, from my experience most real software engineering women do not code like that. They can't get the men to pass the technical interviews for them or have them write their tests worth over 50% of the course. I am not sure what it is like in the US, but in Canada, you can't just code and be considered a Software Engineer. Programs are accredited, etc.

Most "coders" or community college graduates usually have no idea why their code even works. This is where you'll find the women who take the easy way into a tech field in order to get attention and have men do their work for them. They don't have to prove themselves so they get away with it.

Brrrrllliant troll in so many levels!

First, left side, as noted is quick appr to 1/sqrt(float). Which is still a performant, useful approx for ISAs without a dedicated instruction (like SSE).

Now, the right side! First, obviously wrong for (a==b), and ridiculously redundant, but then, the also obvious golden troll, BOTH C++ AND C99 define min and max functions already. It is code that did not need to be written AT ALL.

It is the classic case where wimminz would be hired to do work that does not need to be done in the first place.

What the hell is this? The comments don't make sense, the codes do different things (one just returns the larher number (with 5 for error!?!?!?)) and the other is for calculating sqrt...how can you compare this?
