It's true that it's that simple^[1] to pick up a chick. But that presupposes that you've gotten several other aspects of your game down. We don't all start at that level, and many posts here are dedicated to people who don't.

For example, you say you used to host a lot parties at your house. That strongly implicates you already had the ability to read social cues, a large social circle and many of the elements that many users here still need to acquire. Taking those elements for granted and telling people to forget everything and just go for the kill will help one category: those who already have game but are still stuck at overthinking the close.

I also agree that PUA techniques, routines etc are gimmicks that are for the most part useless, but then again TRP doesn't teach at all, quite the opposite.

Solid insight. I'm the opposite, a "big proponent" of game including elements of NLP. But what you say is very true, it's nice to know some of the tricks, but you never NEED to know anything. Nature has included all the tools you need to screw the girl in the package already.

To get to the part of OP, most of us need to go through dating hell, much like salsa hell. And when you emerge a better man at the end of it, you basically start to give a lot less fucks and just be plain in what it is what you want and you take in rejection without it affecting you too much.

If you're not a natural, like me, you need to do the mileage to get skilled at wrapping in a girl with your words. Because I certainly don't look like an alpha. So I need to do it with charm. So for some it's nice to have some background information of seduction and PUA tactics. While trying those tactics, you learn what works for you and what doesn't. You need to fail. I failed a goddamn amount. But your experience filters out the crap you read here and tried implementing and after a magic number of dates and sexual encounters, you suddenly realise your brain isn't overthinking all that shit anymore, you start to relax and not giving too many fucks if she walks or not, you start recognizing when it's on, etc.

I've reached that point and I gave up giving a crap about a lot of things I used to give crap about. I used to get all rifled up, either being excited about a girl or feeling bad when she didn't reply. That's all gone. I used to do /u/Omlala 's dating guide and the next one and overthinking too many theories and too much stuff because it wasn't playing out like it should.

Now I just relax and do what feels good to me. I made my own dating guide by trying and failing .The problem with guides is that it is being served as a salvation or a true fix. For some it is, for most it isn't. Creating your own guide to women using whatever you found out here or there. And fail. Failing helps you learn. Hopefully without sounding arrogant, and I can't prove it, but as a 41 year old guy, pulling 25 year old girls is not only a lot of fun, but also something I thought impossible a few years ago.

On a side note, not giving a fuck any more and knowing my boundaries was half my battle.

Game is just the ability to show that you know whats happening behind the good girl facade. Most of the criticisms aired in this forum miss the point of "game".

If you are a novice or beginner, you often have no idea of even where to begin. You see a guy picking up chicks and you wonder how he does it. I was that nerd once and I'm not ashamed to say that I was a clueless twit.

Think of game as the foundation upon which you will improve yourself to the point where you too can start pulling in the hot babes.

As a novice you will never equal the performance of a master, UNTIL you understand the principles AND put in the time.

Too many guys at the beginner level think that by simply reading about game that they can go out the next day and get laid and when that doesn't happen then " game" is criticized as being BS. What you're going for is a tactic called shock and awe. Basically you go go go for the pull from the get go and you wear her down by your incessant asking until she says yes. This only works in 3 instances. Either you are leagues above her in smv, she is extremely horny/mentally unstable, or you have to get randomly fucking lucky (like .5 percent shit.)

You have to be more subtle. You can still go for shock and awe, but instead of going for it after 5 minutes (unless the IOIs are there, I'm not saying this never works, it can.) Juts give it an extra 5 or 10 minutes. Get to know her and turn her on, then go for the pull.
