- All of these are positive stereotypes, I feel, because they're associated with men? And are seen as "wow look at how capable men are, able to do all these useful manly things! So strong! So clever!"

- Whereas "shut up and make me a sandwich" or "get back to the kitchen" is pretty much the only one used against women and is used in the tone of "this is the ONLY thing you're good for".

- So many men don't know how to do these things anymore, which is the only way I find it funny. Also I think it's not working on me because my mother is the one who does all these things, not my dad. LOL

Okay but for real though, the main guy I'm talking to right now actually can do all of those things. He's sexy AF.

He's been helping me with some landscaping projects recently while in quarantine. Last week he helped me cut down a tree that was shading my vegetable garden, then he chopped it into smaller pieces for firewood.

It doesn't work. Women don't have the power structure to back up the insult. It falls flat.

Men can say "make me a sandwich" and it stings because men have the power to revoke women's rights and do so on a daily basis. They are reminding you of a social fact.
