“Synonyms” for HVM and LVM??

In casual conversation I refer to HVM as "men" and LVM as "boys". When needed to be more specific, I refer to HVM as "men worthy of my companionship" and LVM again as "boys" 😂

I usually refer to HVM as "husband material" or "men with values" and LVM, well "scum".

I think certain terminology in this sub might be detrimental. For new users they could come across alienating and could scare off woman who are interested and could really need the help from this community.

When I first came here words like “pickmeisha” was something that made me question the sub. I’ve only ever known similar terminologies from “hate subreddits” like Becky and Chad etc. Once I figured out it’s different here I was somewhat relieved. Personally I still really dislike that term, I prefer to use every day words to describe someone (like “person with low self worth” etc). I think it might also help not to fall into black and white thinking and maybe even reduce the comparison to other subreddits who use generalising terms for people. There’s many factors why a woman might be dealing with a shit man and I worry it’s not fair or helpful giving struggling woman such a nickname.

I don't really like these terms either.

I prefer to talk about good or decent men vs dickheads, timewasters, abusers. Whatever word seems more applicable to the particular context.

I think that also stops people thinking you can tell a man is a good man in a few meetings. Sounds more silly when you put it like that than "he seems like a HVM!". Or saying things like "my current boyfriend has some HVM behaviours" like he has some decent behaviours??? He's meant to be all decent!

I think "value" in the context of a man should add value to your life is fine and makes sense to anyone who hears it. But if it doesn't, I think saying you should be better off with a man than without him makes sense. If people still want to pretend that's about money, I don't think they were ever going to listen properly.

I caught myself referring to HVM as "dudes of integrity" the other day, in real life. I call LVM a whole array of names, depending on what they've done. Calling them leeches seems to instantly get other women on board, because we've all felt drained by that kind of man.
