Listen, I don't want to freak you out, but you do need to go to the police. What you did may be seen as assault, and if he reports you then you could be in deep shit. Is it legal to carry tasers where you are?

First, write down every single thing that has ever happened with him, with dates, times, locations, and other witnesses (make a spreadsheet if you have to). If something comes of this and you end up in trouble, your "reliability" as a witness will be called into question, and the more thoroughly you know your own story, the better. Do not make up or embellish anything, but get your facts as straight as possible and stick to them. If you have any texts/chats/whatever from him, screen shot and archive them. Keep everything.

Go to the police and report that he grabbed you. Tell them that you tased him. When they ask you why you didn't go to them sooner, explain that you were panicking and just hoped that he would stop following you, but when you calmed down you realized that you might need more protection. Especially if you've never dealt with the police, just emphasize that you didn't even think about it/it would never occur to you because you've never gotten in trouble.

When did you buy the taser? Was it after he started stalking you? That's your answer if they ask. If not, have other people threatened you? Do you have friends who have been assaulted? Maybe just what you've read in the news? Again, they may ask you why and when you bought the taser. Whatever your answer, keep it consistent.

This guy sounds scary, and what he did absolutely was assault (slapping your butt is ALSO assault, btw). Even if he never comes near you again, having something on the record might help another girl he targets who doesn't get so lucky.

Regardless, even just to cover your own ass, go to the police.
