I support young adults, typically 17-24 years old with different challenges, and I wanted to see if there are any "best practices" you wish you had learned through a role model, trusted adult, parent, community group, school, or another setting that would have greatly benefited you. What information related to FDS do you find key in positively reinforcing self-love, boundaries, and other FDS principles?

I had poor relationship role models growing up and toxic relationships so with therapy, I am on the right path. It breaks my heart to see the young adults I work with not have a support system in place (outside of a few exceptions in their life) that model these behaviors in a healthy manner.

If you have young adults/teens, what are ways that would "reach them" and be relatable yet impact?

What activities or strategies helped you take that first step or address behaviors that were harming your self-growth as a young adult? Or when did it "click" for you to take a step in another direction?

I would LOVE to get some ideas because I am witnessing this a lot and I don't want to directly out myself by saying "look at FDS" but also give them positive guidance in the right direction. Another helpful thing would be any empirical research, resources, activities, organizations, etc. that I can refer to if I am developing an idea to present to my organization so I can advocate creating a curriculum or interactive materials that incorporate these ideals for young adults. For context: I work in a professional development setting but do a lot of referrals and holistic support.

I realize I am "young enough" to be relatable with this population still and they consider me a role model so I want to make sure I am putting in the work personally but would love to see this translate into a professional creative endeavor since I have witnessed an increase in toxic relationships with young adults then having to support them after experiencing trauma.
