Hey guys, just wondering what you guys usually wear and if it gets you compliments (because I’m all honesty that’s why we wear cologne—so other people can think we smell good). I’ve invested in 100ml bottles of:

Versace Eros—$41 (for going out with a group of friends/clubbing/date scent)

Armanf Ventana—$32 (Dior Sauvage clone, just for everyday wear)

Dolce & Gabbanna The One EDP—$54 (also for date nights, it’s a more intimate smell that women have to get closer to really appreciate but when they do, it’s wraps)

Nautica Voyage (well known cheap beast, it cost me $10 and is a great fresh summer citrus scent)

Cuba Gold ($7 Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male clone, which is good for winter. Way too spicy and tobacco like for summer.)

The way I see it is cologne doesn’t make or break you but it damn sure gives you a big advantage over a man who doesn’t wear some. Feels good when women can’t stop sniffing you and staying close to you for the scent. Some of these are well known cologne that fragheads are tired of hearing but those are guys who purchase colognes as a hobby. The average person hasn’t smelled these or doesn’t smell them enough to call you basic—where I live only smell old spice and axe on people.

Eau Sauvage hands down. Read somewhere that it has natural pheromones that turn (women) on.

And it just smells so fucking good

[–]bruiser189 points10 points  (2 children) | Copy

Bleu De Chanel Parfum

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

There’s a debate between EDT, EDP and Parfum. Parfum is the most expensive one but I’ve heard the Eau de Parfum is the best version, what are your thoughts?

[–]The-ls2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

EDP If you’re trying to save money, perfume if you can afford, the only difference is the longevity that’s all

[–]secureMPC1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Just bought this the other day. Had a date with me and she loved it as well.

[–]YoungWhiteAndEnglish11 points12 points  (11 children) | Copy

I use ‘Armaf club de nuit’ which is a Creed Aventus clone

[–]bruiser182 points3 points  (4 children) | Copy

Hear about this all the time, it’s good?

[–]YoungWhiteAndEnglish3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

Had a few compliments on it. However I can’t compare it to the real Aventus as I’m not that rich / stupid ;)

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

I have heard good things about it, it should be like $30 which is pretty good for 100ml who knows you may even find it cheaper, I would blind buy

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children) | Copy

How close is it to actual Aventus? I have this one on my list as well.

[–]Wheysteve2 points3 points  (2 children) | Copy

Not lying when I say it is nearly 90% same smell

[–]YoungWhiteAndEnglish1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Doesn’t last nearly as long as the real Aventus though I assume

[–]DoubleConversation43 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

It still lasts quite long and is a nobrainer for its price

[–]YoungWhiteAndEnglish1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Not sure, I’ve never actually smelt real Aventus. I have had a few compliments on it though

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

yup. i've had this for a few years. women love it. always getting compliments and asked what it is.

Creed Aventus - This Is my favorite scent. I got so many compliments with this and it can be used all year round. It's expensive but if you're not sure you can get a 1ml tester online.

Dolce Gabbana Light Blue Intense - One of the best summer fragrances. It's a fresh ocean scent with mandarins.

[–]TheFowo3 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

Personally I use Lacoste White (got shittons of great reactions to it). Important to remember though, perfumes smell differently on different people so don't buy something just because other people reccomend it. Go to store, try it on your hand, wait 10-15 mins and smell / ask store lady for opinion

I hear Prada l’homme is a soapy scent—in my experience this can be good or bad. I don’t know what to expect with that one, how would you describe the scent?

And I was debating between JPG Ultra male and zeros, but I’ve seen women saying ultra male is too sweet and bubblegum like, and not a very masculine scent, so I went with the Eros. Plus, Eros is so strong and lasts so long I think this bottle will last me 3 years

[–]Nighthawk_Black_6 points7 points  (4 children) | Copy

I like Davidoff cool water

[–]Human_Extreme5 points6 points  (0 children) | Copy

Second this, it's cheap and smells fresh. Wear it a lot too.

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 4 points5 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yep this one is one of the best selling fragrances, can’t go wrong with it

[–]MMFOOD_0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

imo i think creed green irish tweed is a much better version of cool water, although prolly not worth the price tag

[–]MontrealStud2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Compliments left & right with this one

[–]Anabolic_Window141 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I’ve used sauvage, polo red, and azzaro chrome. Those 3 are solid picks. Always get compliments about it

Im a frag head and have bunch of them. My top fragrances which also got me compliments from girls who i literally didnt know.

  1. La nuit de l'homme(spray only when youre gonna have sex or a very close encounter with the girl because its a scent which sits very close to your skin. A lot of tme i got laid with this one i had girls telling me i smell amazing. Best sex scent in my opinion.)
  2. Creed original vetiver (pretty much all of Creeds frags are very good if you have the money go and buy one, this one works the best for me.)
  3. Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille(just buy it trust me)
  4. Versace dylan blue (cheap but works wonders, dumb reach fragrance)
  5. Acqua di qio Profumo (masculine, fresh, sexy at its finest)
  6. Narciso rodriguez bleu noir EDT (very underrated but smells so sexy and ladies fucking love this one. Also a good clos encounter or sex fragrance).
  7. Chanel allure homme sport eau extreme (the best compliment getter, its very mass appealing everybody is gonna love the way you smell.)

And my personal favorite at this moment: CH men prive. (whiskey, leather and sugar)This one i very like and find very masculine. Ladies love it but i havent goten so much compliments as i first thought maybe because it doesnt really last long.

There D’Hermes. I’ve been stopped by women, men, total strangers and had people complement me on how amazing I smell. It’s pricey, but it’s goddamn worth every scent.

Geir, inexpensive on amazon, it’s a Norwegian cologne that’s super fresh, masculine and also gets tons of complements

[–]tb1510 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Hawthorne for men...You fill out a questionnaire about your body type, lifestyle etc. They supposedly mix up 2 different scents for you. While that may just be a gimmick, I love the 2 they sent me.

Haven’t bought any yet but started looking into this topic. I’ve tried out:

A man - Mugler ( People said it would be distinct and it is, great smell but after a while it disappears)

212 vip - Caroline Herrera (Nice woody sea smell after it settles, calming too, can see it being worn casually and not just on nights out)

Man in black - Bvlgari (will definitely buy this one ) scent was long lasting and good, I’ve heard it referred to as a mature spicebomb I would say they’re similar but I prefer this one.

Dior Sauvage, One million, and Versace Eros all smelled great but seem overused. If I were to buy one it would definitely be the mentioned three that I sampled.

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

I’ve heard good things of Man in Black, I hope it fits my persona. Maybe I should try it in the mall first

[–]CSLOBO0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Sauvage and Invictus are awesome

[–]_Icarus_Reborn_0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

Viktor Rolf SpiceBomb.

Shits delicious.

But I'd be careful snagging any of the colognes mentioned here without testing it first. Your skin reacts to the chemicals in the fragrance, what smells good on someone might not work for you.

Always try and go get a tester, make sure your fresh and don't have another cologne on. Find one you like, put it on and see how it sits after a couple of hours. Cologne has high, middle and bass notes that come through after a time.

If your still digging it, then purchase.

[–]PM_mecolorlasernudes0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Just read about this one. Need to try it out.

Honestly, fuck brands. Go to one of those shops that do replicas and find something that makes your nose happy. Fuck spending dozens of dollars on something that can be had for cheaper.

[–]bruiser185 points6 points  (6 children) | Copy

Knock off brands are cheap materials, ware off quickly, they’re not the same

[–]DucardthaDon0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

They use cheaper to less ingredients. You'd be better making your own, it's not that hard.

[–]wtfdoiaskfor1-3 points-2 points  (1 child) | Copy

What cheap materials? Be specific

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Water. The knock offs you buy at that weird mall kiosk are all watered down fakes that wear off too soon. If you used the real stuff you would know.

[–]ISCOREDwithISCO[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

I agree with this, I’m all for replicas as long as performance doesn’t take a hit. At that point I’d just go ahead and get the actual original product. The reason I bought Ventana was because of the great reviews I saw online saying it was 90-95% like Sauvage, and it lasted a long time on my skin and it was $20-$30 cheaper so I went ahead and bought it.

[–]wtfdoiaskfor11 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Blue Touch

I have tried Versace Eros, Dior sauvage, Blue touch. My favorite is Blue touch. It smells so natural and fresh. The other two (Versace Eros and Dior sauvage) don’t smell good.

[–]ngyuhnang-1 points0 points  (5 children) | Copy

I got Versace pour homme and D&G the one from Costco for good prices. Both are pretty good but I use the Versace one for work and D&G for dates.

I used to go to Sephora and Nordstrom every week to grab free cologne samples (it's their policies) and I stopped buying cologne because I found out this. I'd say try out a lot of samples before buying and figure out what you like and what girls like.

[–]Valyarian0 points1 point  (4 children) | Copy

samples as in the small vials?

[–]ngyuhnang0 points1 point  (3 children) | Copy

That’s correct

[–]Valyarian0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

Oh nice, you just go in asking what their sample of the week is? and you think they might still be doing this after Quarantine is over?

[–]ngyuhnang1 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

For Sephora, you can choose any three colognes you like and ask for samples, they will do it right away for you.

But I would always politely ask “do you guys by chance give out free samples” first although I know their policies.
