Patriarchy is when those stats are real, BUT it's still men who make most legal decisions (even those that decide about our reproductive rights).

Patriarchy is when all those stats simply show that women try harder, not that we get the same or better results for equal work and effort.
65% of business startups are women and yet women still have to beg for a fraction of the investors male startups get. So we’re trying harder, and getting less.
[–]MaisiebrFDS Newbie67 points68 points69 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, that's decinitely how it is. Women try harder even when the system is very much rigged against them (we all know what the school system had been like for centuries - it was designed for men, yet we persist and excel).
[–]outside-perceptionFDS Newbie90 points91 points92 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Also that's EARLY 20s we make more statistically. What happens mid to late twenties? We usually stagnate because we're marrying/having kids. It's funny since the r/RedPill talks about women capping out on their late twenties while they "make substantially more".
It has fuck all to do with the wall. It has everything to do with the fact we risk our independence, livelihoods and careers when we get married and have kids.
Edit: more likely to graduate and get advanced education/PhD - okay but most men are opting out then complain women won't settle. More women are pursuing higher education. They are making the conscious decision not to.
Many that I've met in the Americas are still stuck in the mindset that they should be making $50,000 right out of high school and should be making twice that two years after with nothing but a high school diploma.
Most of this just sounds like more evading responsibility. And women like this promoting it. We have more business startups? Seems like lately it's all 17 year old boys becoming millionaires by the time they're 20 for some stupid online start-up they made in high school. But if that statistic is true, it just shows that we keep being forced to work harder because they're not picking up the slack.

Saying women make more in their early twenties is like saying someone ran the fastest first mile of a marathon before getting passed by the other runners.

"Men are more likely to declare bankruptcy"
Yeah, and if I were to declare bankruptcy, what would the scrotes say? "Women suck at money."
When women don't do as well statistically, they blame us. When men don't do as well statistically, they still blame us.
When men outperform women, it's because we're losers and men are superior. When women outperform men, it's because the men are victims.

Men on twitter: it’s the women who are wrong!
[–]plutonian_princessFDS Newbie72 points73 points74 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Woman: gets education, works hard, lives her life responsibly, goes to therapy, manages her finances, and all that despite blatant sexism everywhere she goes..
Men: OMFG is this opression??!!!
So many fucking idiots upvoted this tweet its unbelievable. Just because women manage their lives better and you cant its entirely YOUR fault, ya lazy scrotes. Males be really living in another dimension with no insight or self awareness whatsoever facepalm
[–]MyplummmsFDS Disciple24 points25 points26 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, women had to fight tooth and nail to get what is rightfully theirs (none of these things were ever given to us), whereas men have always expected that society owes them status, a career, and a partner. I will never delay my ambition for a man. Instead of us collectively slowing down, they need to catch up.

None of those stats undo a traditionally patriarchal system. It means men stopped trying.

Or don't even need to try as hard
[–]burpleseaurchinFDS Newbie15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I love how they always conveniently forget history. Like it really wasn't that long ago relatively speaking that women were solely kept at home as baby making maid machines. What excuse do men have??? Funny how these stats go and we're not even done with untangling the effects of sexism in the workplace yet???
[–]MyplummmsFDS Disciple12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, women are actually resilient. Damn

Women are 3 times more likely to attempt suicide. What patriarchy??
See, I can choose whatever statistics I want too.

Desperate for male validation.
I'd normally just feel sorry for her, you really have to be a lost cause to deny that patriarchy exists when you are a woman and have received an education and have access to the internet. I don't have sympathy for the ones who go on Twitter/online to rattle their "please give me male validation" beggar can, spreading male-pandering propaganda and hurting all women/girls.
Men being shit at life, being lazy and emotionally fragile does not mean patriarchy doesn't exist. Women are outperforming men in life only because patriarchy is not as strong as it once was. Women had limited autonomy, limited resources and limited opportunities in the not distant past, and almost zero autonomy, resources and opportunities before that. That's how bad patriarchy used to be. How can she be this obtuse.
Men are shit at life, lazy and emotionally fragile because of disordered parenting, deformed social conditioning of males, because of porn, social media, video games, a consumerist culture that controls society with sex. Both disordered parenting and deformed social conditioning of males are caused by patriarchy. Men suffer, men fail, men die-- because of patriarchy. And in human genetic history, many men don't pass on their genes-- they are simply biologically unfit to do so, they are unreliable, they cannot provide for or protect a pregnant woman or child. So a lot of men are losers because Mother Nature shortchanged them genetically (both mind and body), and she doesn't expect them to procreate. Good luck trying to fix or change genetics and biology. Males are more fragile even in utero, and as infants. But people are too busy hating and shitting on women to genuinely care about or recognize men's problems and think of pragmatic solutions to solve their problems.
Humankind would be a lot better off in general if people spent their time/energy trying to fix men vs trying to oppress, gaslight, blame, shame and hurt women at every opportunity. We don't even need "fixing" like men do, just leave us the fuck alone, recognize that we are human, give us equal rights, don't rape us, murder us, traumatize us and get out of our face-- and we will succeed on our own. Why is that girls and women THRIVE when society steps on women with only 1 foot instead of with 2? Oh, it must be because patriarchy doesn't really exist. /s

Exactly. Men left to themselves act like degenerates. There’s a reason when they first started bringing women to America when it was discovered or when women came to the Wild West that we first had a semblance of a functioning society. Women act as the backbone of civilization.

[–]themissdaydreamerFDS Disciple38 points39 points40 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
they talk about men being more likely to be homeless/unemployed/suicidal/mudered and call it "women privilege". tell me how??? do they really think there is an evil upper hand stopping men from graduating at college, or starting a business, or just making an appointment with the doctor?! are they just going to ignore that decades of teaching men to look down on emotional inteligence and aggreableness are finally getting to them??
when I see my work field being taken over by women, from the university's freshman classes to the chief office, I don't see any of "my privilege". If woman are outperforming men in almost every area despite the lack of opportunity equality, guess who needs to check their privilege.
[–]Lou_AmFDS Newbie11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let's talk about how men leave their women and kids, move into small apartments, eventually alcoholism and lack of self control lead to being homeless, mothers simply wouldn't allow themselves to spiral that far. OK let's talk about homelessness :how many women are in a "quasi" prostitution or abusive relationship because they can't afford to live by their own? Yeah, "female privilege". When they're out in the streets, they're much more likely to be assaulted and beaten up and raped. Ok let's talk about murder : men get in all kinds of shit situations because they turn to crime, fuck people over, and now those other criminals stalk and kill them. Not women's fault.

Exactly! Imagine having a head start and lots of supporters, and still not succeeding. These guys literally have no excuse, so they make up oppression to justify their laziness.

Can’t wait to say in real life: “sounds like men need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps”

It’s called work ethic, maybe men should learn it. Doesn’t undo the patriarchy.
[–]cherthemusicalFDS Newbie13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The meticulous cherry picking she has to do to say these stats as if they put women ahead in life is disingenuous.
[–]MyplummmsFDS Disciple19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Here’s another interesting statistic: “New research reveals that while wedlock helps men to live longer, it shortens a woman's life by more than a year. Marriage helps husbands to an extra 1.7 years, but it knocks 1.4 years off the average wife's lifespan, according to the study of more than 100,000 people across Europe.” In essence, men are slowly killing us. You won’t find the reverse of this trend, unless a man lives alone, which shortens his life expectancy.

All this tells me is that women succeed even with the patriarchy weighing down on them. That’s how amazing we are.

It doesn't prove the lack of patriarchy you fucking moron, because women can succeed despite being hold back at every turn. Men meanwhile, will still screw up buying grocery even if his wife helped him in every way. Because women are that amazing and men are that pathetic.

Part of the problem with critical theory is that privilege doesn't always give an advantage in the long term or lead to better outcomes. Often privileged people are lazy, entitled and ignorant so don't do well without a helping hand. This is why immigrant groups generally do better than the local population even through they face much more prejudice and barriers to success. Most highly successful self made business people have big psychological hang ups about not being good enough and that drives them to succeed.

It’s like they don’t do their research on what the patriarchy is.
In other words, parents pay for their early 20-something sons' car insurance and car payments and help them pay their rent, while they make their daughters pay for their own stuff.
