This makes me sad. There is a 6 year old girl with a father who has been hiding her existence for 2 years. Who admits to being a bad father and yet does nothing to change that. He's so worried about his girlfriend leaving him and he isn't even remotely able to care that he is damaging a little girl with his neglect.

I have a friend who dated a guy for a few years and found out, after the broke up, that he had fathered a child when he was 12 (the mom was 13). he literally did not mention it once during their whole relationship. I have sympathy for children who don’t understand consequences and do stuff like have sex at such an early age but jesus, keeping it a secret is so fucked up.

Ugh, true story time..

I was dating a LVM for 4 months before I discovered he had an 8 year old son. That's actually what caused me to block him and cut him off completely without providing him any explanation or closure. I found out because I had a nagging feeling he was hiding something, so I did some digging and discovered the truth. That whole experience is also what led me to find FDS.

I was so disgusted that he would hide such a significant part of his life. Oddly enough though, I actually felt worse for his child than I did for myself. How shitty of a person do you have to be to hide your child? Don't hide your kid, let the other person make an informed decision about whether or not they want to date someone with a kid(s).

Not only that but if you choose to have children, you should be proud of them and the role you play in their life, prove yourself to be a good parent and role model. Not hide them or lie by omission. So despicable.
