Ladies, what's the sweetest thing a HVM had done for you to show that he cares?

My current bf and I had been dating for only a few months when quarantine started last March. One night, I got an awful awful migraine, one so bad I was throwing up everything all night. He took me to the ER, stayed with me until he couldn't go any further cause covid, then met my parents (for the FIRST TIME) out in the parking lot and stayed with them for two hours until I was released. Then he took me home and took care of me all the next day. That was the first time he really showed me how caring and respectful he is.

I was homeless as a teen and so was my boyfriend.

He would lie down on concrete so I could use him as a bed. He carried me on his back for miles. He gave me the lions portion of whatever food we got. If he did something illegal to get us food/money he always took all the risk by himself. He was always so gentle and patient with me and whenever he saw me he would have a big smile on his face and pick me up and swing me around.

Maybe not the best but one of the first I remember from the fog of my terrible pickmesha days.

I worked at a shitty cafe in my early college years. This guy was also on shift but only for the day from another store. His shift ended a couple hours before mine. I asked him to please get me something to eat because I was starving and handed him my only $5. He came back, dropped off a brown paper bag and left. In the bag was a soup, half a sandwich, a big piece of chocolate ... and my $5.

Never saw him again.

My boyfriend is a sweetheart. He surprises me often with small gestures and gifts, but one of the sweetest things he did for me - on my birthday this past year during quarantine, he planned a surprise rooftop dinner with takeout from my favorite sushi restaurant, and picked out a beautiful emerald necklace. I had mentioned in passing on one of our first dates that I had never really been surprised before in my life, and he went all out for this birthday surprise. It was so sweet and I cried lol

He taught me how to ride a bike during quarantine. I am extremely impatient and he was very patient with me. It took 12 days of practicing for 2 hours at a time.

I said “fuck this” many times.

I’m in a long distance relationship with a man and I once mentioned that I regularly buy fresh flowers for myself, because I like them. He has sent me fresh flowers every two weeks since then.

He was on a trip 10 hours away, left early to drive to my house when I told him I failed a test that I had been working hard for months training to pass it. He also sent flowers the next day to encourage me not to give up.

There was also the time I started having really bad cramps while I was at his place. He left the bed and came back with water, pain pills, and a heating pad.

When my parents were in a really bad spot and about to lose their house he went behind my back and gave them $2000. Not a loan, just a gift, just to help😭😭

I am gonna leave out the bigger things for the sake of anonymity, but these are some of the more "everyday" sweet things:

I think the most unique, consistent thing that I find very sweet, is that he writes me love letters. Like, actual handwritten cards, sometimes with a small gift. I save all of them.
He is making an actual effort to learn my language. He is taking small lessons every goddamn day.
Just being incredibly supportive in general. I sometimes downplay my success so I wont make others feel less, but he refuses to take any of that. He is genuinely happy for me - every time.
He cares for me in many small ways - making sure my phone gets charged, makes me tea every morning and afternoon, checks in with me, and does what he can to make my life easier, particularly during high-stress periods.
He remembers things I say, and my likes/dislikes. I think he knows my preferences better than my mum lol.

When I failed my drivers license test, my ex made sure to give me driving lessons until I was ready to take another test. It was so sweet the way he helped me.

Not sure which would be the sweetest, but every week he: - Gives me different flower bouquets - Makes me breakfast with berries and fruits he cut and put into beautiful patterns just because he knows it makes me happy - Calls and sends me voice messages several times asking how my day was, making plans for us and having interesting small discussions, when I try to speak in his language he makes a point of telling me how proud he is of my skills and progress - Over Christmas I got a chocolate adventscalendar where he had opened it in the back to write little messages for each day that I could only see when I opened it. - Buys bathbomb and makes romantic and relaxing baths for me - When we're out driving and I'm taking pictures all the time he always offer to stop and sit and wait while I go outside to take a good shot. - He will play q board game or small computer game with me 7 times just because it makes me happy (even if he doesn't like repetitions)

Well it's not one thing, but because he gets flowers so often the employees at the florist's all know him by now.

It's because he asks so many questions about the flowers in order to get the right ones.

So now the flowers are beautiful, in my favorite colors and last for ages! Right now I have two bouquets because the older one is still kicking 😊

Side note: any tips on how to keep roses alive longer? I love how they look, but they they always die on me...

Hard to pick, I had an awful day at work, because of some arsehole and my bf came running to work to pick me up (didn't have a car he was just a student). It's the little things, like chocolate on your period, rubbing your feet after a hard day, buying you gifts just because.

I think it's consistent acts of love and consideration. Every day he makes my life easier and better. These are also things which I don't need to ask for, he just does because we are conscious of each other. Whether it is running me a bath, bringing me a cup of tea, picking me up from work, bringing home my favourite snacks etc. If you have to ask for them to care, then they don't care enough.

My dad is disabled. He has CIDP and is mostly wheelchair bound. I've been suffering with a serious depressive episode for the last 6 months and my husband's looked after our 3 kids, whilst WFH and has collected my dad's meds and sorted appointments for him, done my parents and grandads shopping so they can shield. And would still make my favourite meals in the eve and cuddle me in a blanket and listen to my ramblings. He's done research online on how to help and has helped me not feel like a burden.

No flowers or diamonds can compare to how he has raised me up and cared for all my family.

He knows when I’m out of shampoo/toothbrush/pads/whatever usually before I even do. And when he has a color choice for something he knows I’ll be using, he picks it in my favorite color.

I was dating a guy where we had a mutual time limit on the relationship. We were both seasonal employees just out of long term relationships and frankly sleeping alone felt really weird. There were a lot of great moments and memories of those three months but also it was really clear that it wouldn't make a good long term relationship for either of us for a plethora of reasons. At the end of the season he presented me with a whole album about our time together and it just perfectly said everything. It was over, we did love each other, and because of that we helped each other heal and grow from where we were before and set ourselves up well for the next chapter.

My husband would always wash the dishes for me unless I’m eating by myself or he really needs to do something. Ever since I met him, he would automatically pick up my dish when we are finish eating and cleans up.
