The men who say those things have none of them.

Anyone who's putting in real effort to be a good potential partner knows that no one needs to be the perfect package. I'm certainly not perfect, nor will my future partner be. I know plenty of men who are highly successful with women because they know they have a lot to offer, even if they don't check every single box. A man who's 5'6 can easily be highly successful with women if he learns how to be a good listener, to dress himself properly, and to be entertaining company.

The problem is that you have to put effort in to achieve most of those things. It's easy to say "Well, I'll never be 6 feet+" and call it a day. Instead of watching anime or jerking off to porn, men have to be willing to go to therapy or pick up a self-help book to have a better understanding of themselves. They want the girlfriend without the work, and it's easy to blame it on "lol high standards."

What exactly is our benefit if he has "tons of friends"? They can only be superficial connections then, and where does the woman/girlfriend fit in timewise? And how many of his friends are women who are there to stroke his ego?

And "super charming" - oh great, so you're good at telling people what they want to hear? Sounds more like he knows how to get laid by talking cheap. That's probably why he is proud of being "a good listener", because he gets to find out the weaknesses and how to manipulate others by listening closely. Also, talking too much could reveal his not so nice personality too early.

How about being authentic, honest and kind? Being gentle, self-reflective and attentive - stuff like that didn't even cross his mind. He thinks that the stuff he mentiones makes a good partner and it is clear that he has no f*cking clue. What a loser.

“and a million other things”... you mean respect? kindness? positivity? generosity? Most women have varying degrees of desire toward different body/face/heights, and ambition and hard working will usually lead to a good career, in some states your cost of living will be low enough to be fine on a high end 5 figure salary. These men don’t want to hear it. They want to stay lazy because they think what we want is unobtainable when in reality it takes more work than they’re willing to put in.

Why would I feel sympathetic about there being male standards for what is generally considered attractive, when the same men that say this (it's always the ones who complain about "women today") say women are useless after 30, dehumanize us into a number /10, and bond with other men over our humiliation? Pfft, they can't even take 0.01% of what they dish out? Pathetic.

I know plenty of women who make good money, take care of their bodies, great friendships, charming, etc. So yeah, absolutely low bar.

He hasn't hit bare minimum yet, but he can keep going. At least he hasn't mentioned breathing in the oh-so-long list of things expected of men. Minus the 6 feet+, I could literally walk down a busy street and find 10 women who meet these requirements.
