Yep, that is the case. A man who has options is going to prefer a woman who is not overweight. Pretty simple. Losing weight is not easy, but if you want to be healthier and more attractive to the opposite sex, you are going to need to put in that effort. In a way being overweight sends a message to your partner that they are not worth the effort needed to be attractive to them.

Also, being fat is not just a cosmetic difference. It is a liability in terms of health and it is a correlating indicator of other bad traits (laziness, apathy, lack of impulse control). These things are also unattractive to anyone of high value. Men who can get a better woman are not going to settle for a woman who does not take good care of her body.
