Commenters are posting blatant sexist stereotypes and generalizing all men without even trying to answer the question. It's so disheartening to see sexism against men receive so much support. Am I the only one seeing this??
The answer is the same, it's society.. girls aren't encouraged to blabla and boys are taught they're entitled to blabla. If only they could teach them from an earlier age to be more in line with their enlightened ideas.. This will come up time and time again, nothing is biological, everything is taught, and the reason anything is bad is because the people they don't agree with have too much power over how children are socialized.
They love to say what men think, want, have experienced, constantly. But holy shit if you just make a simple observation about a woman when you have a penis. You don't know them, you're not a woman so you're opinion doesn't matter.
Simplification of Modern feminism. Women can do and say whatever they want, men can do and say and do whatever they want as long as it benefits women. Men say abortions so totally be okay, high praise. Says it shouldn't happen, his opinion is moot and should stfu because my body my choice bullshit. Well you wouldn't have to make that choice if you didn't choose to let some careless douche between your legs. Women hold the keys to sex, men hold the keys to the relationship.
there is definitely a correlation to violent parents creating violent children, now whether that results in serial killing is dependent on many more factors
there is definitely a correlation to violent parents creating violent children, now whether that results in serial killing is dependent on many more factors
There has never been a study that correlates violent fathers with serial killers... if you know of one, please present it.
Actually it is because they both decided to have sexual relations without practicing safe sex (both), then the mother found out she was pregnant, and made the active decision to bring the pregnancy to term, even though she was at the time dating a guy that wouldnt end up being a good father.
Its simple, guys that dont want to be dads should rubber up, and/or make sure the woman is using a contraceptive.
Women that dont want to become single moms should use a contraceptive, and/or make sure the man is using rubber.
A couple should only drop the rubber/contraceptive when they're in a stable relationship (imo 2y+, after living together for a goood 6mo), where they trust the opposing party enough to actually make a new generation.
Kids arent a fucking joke. People (Both sexes) should stop producing them if they arent ready for it. Stop pretending it'll work itself out. My advice: ONLY go through with a PLANNED pregnancy. Abort Everything else!
I agree with you, except with the ending. There are several and simultaneous contraceptive ways for both men and women. There should be almost zero abortions.
Edit: ok, I read it again, basically you said the same lol, it just appeared a bit harsh at first
Or the more common circumstance where the mother is actively keeping the child away from the father with the help of the legal system. You guys really liek to change any circumstance to make sure it can be a man's fault. Go figure, you guys raise kids without accepting responsibility for virtually anything and blame others constantly, and you raise little humans who happen to grow up to not respect people and take no responsibility. Damn, what are the odds of that?
you're right, there are all kinds of shitty family circumstances that can contribute to a dude becoming a serial killer including resentful mothers and absent fathers
because women aren’t good enough to get away with it more than once!
acting like them aside,
women are embraced by every aspect of society and accepted no matter what
men are shamed and treated as disposable by every aspect of society, and told to man up no matter what
with the way men are treated is it really a shock some lose total connection with reality and have no empathy or emotion left?
these traits don’t lead to becoming a serial killer, but all serial killers have them for a reason. it leads to a passion for revenge against others, or a passion for feeling in power for once when they have been denied it all their lives but told by every aspect of society they should have it.
of course those threads just bottle it down to “men think they are more important than others”, does everyone not think this of themselves? and “testosterone”, which doesn’t cause violence but allows men to pursue goals far more than women and if a mans goal has been shaped by the world around him to get revenge or to feel accepted by force, you now have a serial killer.
of course there is outliers such as psychopaths and sociopaths but i wouldn’t base everything around an outlier group.
why though? and even if i did include the outliers being sociopaths and psychopaths that isn’t a gender dependent thing so it doesn’t relate to the topic at hand.
I mean in general, if you're dealing with serial killers they're outliers per definition. It would only make sense to look at the extremes of different characteristics. Anti social personality disorder, poor impulse control along with higher testosterone would more likely to lead to actual violence than lower testosterone.
I'd like to see more talk of this. This was a shocking thing for me to learn when I started looking into the MRM. I'm amazed testosterone, a chemical of all things, became politicized to the point where it's propagated as a violence/aggression hormone simply for association with men (compared to women). Just from a chemistry perspective, the hormone itself should not be good or bad so there shouldn't be such a strange cultural obsession with selling testosterone as having properties it doesn't.
Don't think I'm trying to demonize men or testosterone. We're talking about extreme cases, not normal people.
What do you think explains the clear difference in violence between men and women?
I just think the differences are largely biological. Culture and society have developed around those differences rather than created them.
I'm doubtful about studies conclusively showing the final word about testosterone that can be summed up in one sentence. A lot of studies say a lot of different things.
I just don't like the idea that it's all to blame on "the patriarchy" or culture because I think that's being used to justify reshaping of society by a relative small number of people who think they know better than everybody else.
If you're going to downvote me and then reply, you can have the last word..
Also for thousands of years men were forced to fight and die at wars, while women lived in comfort, selected 'the winners' for their sexual life, and started wars just because society conditioned women to value their orgasms more than men's lives.
It is worth pointing out that many serial killers, such as Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac killer, also MIGHT have been female since we don't know who they were.
Probably due to different targets (relatives, children, the old or ill -- in comparison to strangers), different methods which made it possible for the crimes to be overlooked, different hunting grounds and, a huge blind spot (the myth that women aren't capable of such crimes)
*Edit: I get your point and I agree. Even the assertions are wrong (externalise vs internalise, not being able to handle aggression or the misconceptions about testosterone, or the one that went on a long tangent about dudes). So much sexism
They worded it wrong and cast the wrong image. Its not that women are any less capable than men its just in general due to society accept only females expressing their feelings those potential serial killer females could be directed in something more law abiding that these female enjoy. Though its probably said alresdy or implied, where on the male side they have so much feelings they arent sure how to deal with, sometimes the easiest option is not to feel, discarding feelings.
Thats more of a revenge route for the serial rapists. I am talking more about serial killers that arent on a revenge route but more of the serial killers that kill for enjoyment
Thats not what trauma does lol. To go out and be a serial rapist means they have come to terms with their trauma and decide the only joy they can feel is to see the other gender suffer in the same traumatic situation by their hand
The whole argument was about the trauma they had, what trauma did you think we were talking about, Since your unsure what i am saying by this misunderstanding. Is about thr fact that trauma doesnt force people to do things, many use it as an excuse to do bad and in this case to repeat the event onto others. When they themselves are no longer traumatized.
By your logic traumatic persons go out and recreate their trauma over and over where this time they are the one calling the shots. Which shows how in control they are there is wrong and right, a solution can be either of which for then to come to a solution like thst they have to be pqssed their trauma, hence revenge
By my logic? I'm stating facts, not reasoning anything out of it.
The reason serial rapists and serial killers do what they do is untreated trauma and abuse that's manifesting.
Not all people traumatized and abused end up as either, and it manifests in other ways. When you drop a cup and shatter it, you cannot predict exactly how it will break... the same is true of people.
Thats how they interpret how the trauma changed them sure. But the victims of the trauma would have to gotten out of it and chose to replicate the event on others. They cant be both traumatized and out formulating more victims to go through the trauma, in which they chose to relive the traumatic event over snd over to replicated it as accurately as they want
Well atleast some comments are good. Someone pointed out that its because women are less likely to be seen as criminals so they aren't caught. Also method of violence is different women use poison and men use lethal weapon.
Generalization is bad all around. No matter the subject. What's your opinion on how to approach a subject like gender based discrimination, and the social impact of gender roles, without using any kind of generalizing?
You want to know why? It's a combination of things. Upringing, education, social expectations, media, environment and many more. It's the same reason why the 13/52 statistic is, while true, ignorant of environmental and socioeconomic factors that cause it to be like that. Not going to open that cesspool of toxicity and uneducated takes. But the gist is basically, the environment around an untouched child as he grows up with a touch of genetics is what shapes him into what he becomes. I would say the environment part holds the majority of the mold that makes a serial killer. It's not a hard conclusion to come by if you just do a bit of critical thinking. Clearly that is something the crossposted sub lacks, though.
I think they've argued pretty persuasively that men are inherently violent, and women are inherently peaceful. As far as I can see, the only practical solution to this has already been provided by Feminists - "Kill all men". (I probably better put the /s here).
Yeah go look at that threads moderator rules that should tell you enough that it's not a place of good people who actually have any idea of what it means to be eqaul ...... jaded views and in no way prepared to see others
I have seen all, but have been on the receiving and giving end of the atheist-theist conflicts in comment sections. That one really depends WHICH part of reddit you go to. There is some subs I learned to avoid so theist freaks stay out of my dms.
The irony of this is that if we assume the take that they claim to say they believe in, aka “equality” we can say more or less that at least mentally men and women at birth are pretty similar. Which then goes to nurture aspect, if there are more serial killers that are men that means society as a whole is doing men a disservice whereas woman have privilege. The patriarchy affects men just as much as it affects women, hell even more imo
It exists, not the way they say it exists though. So much misconception around it by feminists themselves that you might as well change the name. Smh, they don't even understand what they try to explain.
Shit rolls downhill. I would argue that a male serial killer is typically going to choose victims who are substantially weaker than he. Therefore he has his pick of smaller men, the entire female population and children. Women could only choose weaker women (and that would still be a huge fight risk) and children.
I would further argue female serial killers are most likely satisfied, caught and thus weeded out when they start having children.
I think there aren't as many female serial killers as male because many women prefer to manipulate others into doing their bidding, instead of doing it themselves.
Think no Queen or Empress is a serial killer? Convince your husband that taking over X country gets him Y, but you don't actually care about that. You care that you now have peasants to get silk from. Or spices. Or incense. Etcetera.
A lot less hassle than international trade. FOR HER. No this isn't a great example, but I think you get my point.
Edit: Forgot to mention something. "The most powerful person in a kingdom isn't the king, it's the one whispering in his ear."

Has any suggested program or policy ever been proven effective at reversing this? No. Not a single one.

Since when is serial killing a male dominated occupation?
There are at least 66 known female serial killers infamous enough to warrant their own wikipedia page.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_female_serial_killers
This list is incomplete, it only includes serial killers from one country.
Which means it misses one of the most prolific serial killers of all time.

They cant be both traumatized and out formulating more victims to go through the trauma, in which they chose to relive the traumatic event over snd over to replicated it as accurately as they want

Most don't even realize it's related...
[–]-NotFBI-agent006- 0 points1 point2 points (13 children) | Copy Link
They dont have to still be traumatized to do those related to it so yeah

Well atleast some comments are good. Someone pointed out that its because women are less likely to be seen as criminals so they aren't caught. Also method of violence is different women use poison and men use lethal weapon.
[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Some of them also say that women probably get away with it more often, which is correct.

Generalization is bad all around. No matter the subject. What's your opinion on how to approach a subject like gender based discrimination, and the social impact of gender roles, without using any kind of generalizing?

At first I thought, 'good call by the mods' when the thread got locked, and then I looked at their reason for it
[–]reddut_gang 3 points4 points5 points (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]TheDwiin 3 points4 points5 points (1 child) | Copy Link
I find it ironic that the mod locked it due to the "graceless generalization of women."
[–]Mitschu 4 points5 points6 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Q: Why do you think there are so few female serial killers?
A: Women aren't conditioned by society into believing their orgasms are more important than human life.
This is fine. Sure, let's randomly talk about rape now.
All replies removed due to "derailing."
Also:
One of the reasons your comment can be removed:
Yeah. Feminists: if they didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any at all.

Yeah go look at that threads moderator rules that should tell you enough that it's not a place of good people who actually have any idea of what it means to be eqaul ...... jaded views and in no way prepared to see others
[–]Vanriel 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Got to admit I laughed at the comment that said "men have access to the same outlets as women for anger"
Really? Could of fooled me.
[–]justarandomtrol 1 point2 points3 points (0 children) | Copy Link
To answer there question, men get less mental health help and get ignored when they reach out for help leading to serial murderers
[–]Romanian_TVee 1 point2 points3 points (1 child) | Copy Link
Its reddit. If you are cis, white, straight, Christian and/or male- expect it to despise you
[–]KurtGG 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
I have seen all, but have been on the receiving and giving end of the atheist-theist conflicts in comment sections. That one really depends WHICH part of reddit you go to. There is some subs I learned to avoid so theist freaks stay out of my dms.
[–]LastRounder 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Why there are so little number of female serial killers? Because pussy pass let's em be spared.
[–]Good_Stuff11 1 point2 points3 points (7 children) | Copy Link
The irony of this is that if we assume the take that they claim to say they believe in, aka “equality” we can say more or less that at least mentally men and women at birth are pretty similar. Which then goes to nurture aspect, if there are more serial killers that are men that means society as a whole is doing men a disservice whereas woman have privilege. The patriarchy affects men just as much as it affects women, hell even more imo
[–]intactUS_throwaway 9 points10 points11 points (5 children) | Copy Link
The patriarchy doesn't exist. It never did.
[–]reddut_gang -2 points-1 points0 points (4 children) | Copy Link
It exists, not the way they say it exists though. So much misconception around it by feminists themselves that you might as well change the name. Smh, they don't even understand what they try to explain.
[–]bufedad 4 points5 points6 points (2 children) | Copy Link
It doesn't exist. Society has existed in it's entirety for the benefit of women and the elite (in that order).
[–]reddut_gang -3 points-2 points-1 points (1 child) | Copy Link
what if that is part of what the patriarchy entails?
[–]bufedad 5 points6 points7 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Then you've decided that we have a patriarchy regardless of what the word means...
[–]Legendary-Lawbro 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
At that point it’s a matriarchy.
[–]DangerousEstimate610 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah ur not the only one it's everyone decision is if that man becomes a white knight or a meninist
[–]Papa_Goulash 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link
Shit rolls downhill. I would argue that a male serial killer is typically going to choose victims who are substantially weaker than he. Therefore he has his pick of smaller men, the entire female population and children. Women could only choose weaker women (and that would still be a huge fight risk) and children.
I would further argue female serial killers are most likely satisfied, caught and thus weeded out when they start having children.
[–]Actually_Viirin 0 points1 point2 points (0 children) | Copy Link

Tbh I think all the bad comments you saw got removed because I looked now and those comments aren’t that bad
