Now that the weather has started to warm up - I've made a conscious effort to acquire and wear more dresses. Two years ago, I owned zero casual dresses appropriate for daytime or even a semi-fancy dinner. After discovering RPW and TRP 2yrs ago, I realized I had a lot of work to do in the "being feminine" department.

Since I have slowly been incorporating more dresses into my wardrobe, I've noticed a few things that may help someone who is a little behind on the "looking feminine" goal.

  1. Working out will make all clothes look/fit better on you, especially dresses.

  2. Only buy dresses that fit you, otherwise you either won't wear them or won't feel confident/pretty while wearing them (this may seem like a no brainer- but I somehow managed to make this mistake early on)

  3. Just wearing a dress will make you feel/act more feminine! This was very surprising to me... I found myself talking/socializing in a more feminine manner just because I was in a dress!

  4. Men will notice. Holy cow I cannot even count the number of compliments I got from male friends just by wearing a dress during the day (as compared to none or very few in other clothing).

  5. If you're new to the whole "wearing a dress thing" like I was- start small. Just wear a dress with nice sandals, you don't need worry about accessorizing/heels yet if that seems too overwhelming (you can always add those to your outfit once you get more comfortable wearing dresses).

I have by no means perfected the "feminine look" (I have a long ways to go) - but I thought i'd share these thoughts for any ladies making the first steps towards looking more feminine.

Please share any thoughts/tips you have!
