Men are separated from their friends by wives and marriage. They are taught to "man-up" by women, not men. Nora Vincent demonstrated that explicitly in her experiment.

...and I've been there, done that, got divorced, met a real woman with no control issues...which is why I can contrast what this jackwagon is saying...and I have many good male friends, exclusively male friends.

I hate how they act like men don't share their emotions because of other men. In reality, most men encourage other men to talk or let it out, at least the ones I've always been around.

The reason men don't do this more publicly, is because WOMEN, not men, will shame them if they do. I've dealt with it in a relationship that had just got going. My grandpa passed away and I didn't take it well. She became distant and eventually found someone else, thank god. I asked what happened and she said I wasn't fun anymore... Lol. Bitch.

The idea that 'feelings' are a female thing is just made up. Literally no man denies his feelings. He may feel he has to fight through them or set them aside but that isn't the same. Said it before and I'll say it again - women are unlikely to make substantive adjustments to how they conceptualize (let alone treat) men until the plight of men is so bad that it affects THEM in a negative way. Having said that - we need to just get a move on rather than expecting change from the ladies. It's all well and good to point out how selfish these sorts of "takes" are ... but that's not going to solve the problem. Best to get our own acts in order, support guys in their efforts towards awareness and self-betterment, etc. Lots of lonely, anxious, affected guys out there - regardless of whether women are kind or not, we can be.

And it is women who are causing this problem, by shaming, dismissing, friend-zoning and/or avoiding men who do show feelings. This teaches us to avoid showing them, if we are to have positive/productive female attention.

TL;DR: the quickest way to dry up a woman’s sex drive for you is to become open with your feelings with her. A bare minimum can actually help, but the full Monty will have them running for the hills.

When I first got married I read a lot of marriage books (mostly from a Christian perspective). Most stressed the fact that most men didn’t have a lot of friends and how as a Christian wife it would fall on me to be a sounding board/ fulfill that need for my husband. It was seen as an honor not as a burden.

This type of article pisses me off to no end. “Toxic masculinity” is absolutely bullshit no ifs and or butts and “wah wah wah poor me” is such a degrading place to put women.

To be fair, a lot of my buddies rely on their wives to arrange their social lives. It's not that they can't do it themselves, it's more that they are way too busy to do it themselves and their wives stay at home. I'm always surprised by how little effort people put into socializing once they get into career and family mode. We should all do our part to have our own lives outside of our relationships. If anything, it's women that control the social sphere that perpetuate loneliness in men because they've made us need them to be social. So we all need to pick up the phone and put in the time to make our own social lives.

Accurate somewhat for a FRACTION of the male population. They're men you would see with the same group of men or maybe just one/two all the time and you'd make the assumption that they're close like good friends but they don't talk about anything beyond the surface/business. Like dead ass no one would know the true emotional state of the other. So eventually when they end up with significant others its that person that they open up to (if at all) and most of the time when they open up its the equivalent to a dam breaking right in front of women and they don't have anywhere to take cover
