When feminists came up with, "My body, my choice" they never imagined that men would use it too.

Now that men ARE saying that, feminists are trying frantically to backpedal.

They're triggered, because men having the right to say "No" goes against the core, essential, most sacred principle of the feminist religion: "Only women get rights, only men get responsibilities".

[–]the_unseen_one 31 points32 points33 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I really am shocked to see so much backlash against men choosing who they kiss snd have sex with. It's like people really believe that men aren't allowed to have preferences and say "no".

[–]greeb666 15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

God forbid you reject a fat gal in front of her friends.

[–]MuslimGangEnrichment 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do it for fun, even without being asked.

[–][deleted] 41 points42 points43 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

They also don’t believe in men using it when it comes to infant circumcision.

[–]The_Beardy_Man 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thought experiment: If a circumcized man decides he identifies as a woman, is the surgeon who circumcized him now guilty of female genital mutilation?

Just another way feminists' laws could bite them in the ass ...

[–]bakedpotato486 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nah, just incomplete service.

[–]boringcarpets 14 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

they never imagined that men would use it too.

This goes for pretty much all the bullshit terms feminists and so-called "progressives" come up with, and yet the hamsters keep spinning and the intellectual dishonesty continues - equality was never the aim of the game, or abiding by their own god damn rules

[–]Eastuss 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Doesn't feel like backslash to me because we're not talking about feminists right here we're talking about transgender nazi. D: It is not a woman who said "you have to have sex with me", it's a man. Frankly this kind of person actually do not portray a bad picture of women but a bad picture of men.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's not really a backlash, per se, but the natural expansion of a concept across the body politic. If you argue a position, and argue it well, that rhetoric is going to convince people, and they are going to run out into the public and start to spread that idea around. It's near impossible that your concept will be 100% contained to the group you really intended to help.

And, it's pretty evident that feminists were really arguing for empowering women to say no, not necessarily to empower everyone to say no. Now, we're seeing the natural outcome of that idea going viral. If it's a right, it's a right for everyone, and that means people can express preferences and even outright bigotry in their partner choices, and it's all just their 'right' to choose their partners.

[–]Eastuss 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would understand all this if it was a fat woman arguing that men should have sex with her despite her being fat. But here this is a dude. A dude that spread rape culture propaganda by feminists standards.

[–]svenskbitch 37 points38 points39 points 8 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I find this US discussion so bizarre. Just a few decades ago, transgender people WERE truly not only discriminated, but widely despised. That we managed to change that was, I submit, truly a great accomplishment.

But now we are all up in arms about stuff that few transgender people actually care about, such as ridiculous pronouns. And we are even encroaching upon the territory that was more or less sacrosanct until now: sexual preferences.

That opens up a Pandora's box. I have a particular type, which includes sex, height, race, intelligence, and body shape. If I would apply these same criteria to, say, hiring decisions, I would indeed be a raging sexist and racist. If these preferences are now subject to the same type of scrutiny, we will sink into a polarised morass that, among other things, is likely to trigger a backlash against transgender people. People who oppose these kinds of statements will cluster in environments that is self-referential and likely to be susceptible to true transphobia.

[–][deleted] 31 points32 points33 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

And a large portion of transgenders seem to be transtrenders; that is, idiots who think they have a special sex hormone that makes them into a 3rd gender. Aka attention whores.

[–]Curthurley 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This times infinity. Glad to see other people recognizing whats happening.

[–]wasabean 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Agree so much :/ As a transguy who hasn‘t completed transition yet, I don‘t expect anyone to make accomodations to me. I let people believe I‘m a butch woman (if I don‘t meet them again anyway), and I always tell people that they shouldn‘t worry and that I don‘t get offended. Some people try and that‘s nice, but it‘s not something I expect or demand.

In terms of partners, well, I think I‘d be pretty selective about my partners anyway, but I think a lot of women wouldn‘t get together with me on account that I can‘t have children, and wouldn‘t want to even if I could. Definitely understand that men wouldn‘t want to date trans-women on that basis. (Though you gotta admit that trans women will never be able to trick you into parenthood, so that‘s a plus, lol, if you‘re only having one night stands.)

Either way, it goes both ways and I definitely think that trans people (and those who want to be trans but aren‘t) go too far and if they push too hard, there will be major backlash. And then, it‘s the real trans people who will suffer, the actual 0.5% or however small it is.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I wish you and all other real transgenders out their good luck in your/their transition(s).

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

This is important to note.

If you're transgender female, there are certain pragmatic realities about your position that should be accepted, and your team should be working with you to prepare you for the inevitable rise of these hot button topics, so you have strategies to deal with them.

The biggest of these is kids. Otherwise perfectly reasonable biological women get turned down for sex and relationships for no other reason than the fact they are sterile. Anyone looking for kids is going to find another partner. That's automatically going to chop out potential partners for any MTF Trans. Expect the conversations, expect the results, and prepare yourself for the inevitable.

Same thing goes for anyone that gets profound pleasure out of seeing their partners have an orgasm. FTM or MTF, the vast majority never have another orgasm, ever again. It seems petty, perhaps, certainly compared to the children issue, but for a lot of people this is a deal breaker.

And so is the apparati. If you've got a drawer full of dildos to keep your surgically constructed vagina open, or a pump to inflate your surgically created penis, expect a percentage of the population that might otherwise sleep with you to walk away because they are turned off by the prospect. It's inevitable.

[–]wasabean 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Just one thing - I don't think it's the vast majority who don't have orgasms any more. It is true that the ability can be reduced, but it highly depends on the kind of surgery you get. For MtFs, it's a chance-based thing (though they can likely still orgasm through the prostate, if they enjoy that kind of thing), while FtMs have a choice between Phalloplasty (creation of a penis using skin), and Metoidioplasty (extension of the natural clitoris, which grows during hormone treatment). The first will pretty much guarantee lack of orgasm, but the latter gives you a good chance to retain it.

But yes, I agree with most of what you said. (:

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, metoidioplasty is increasing in popularity, so more and more people are retaining the ability to orgasm than in the past, but even that comes with it's own side effect to consider - virtually none of them can penetrate their partners with the end result.

That also reduces the partners who will opt to participate, so there's a bit of a trade off that happens.

[–]wasabean 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Fair enough. I think of it like being born with a micropenis. It sucks, but it‘s something you‘ll have to deal with in life.

Kinda like hair. FtMs often lose hair in transition, but I think of that as a kind of genetic lottery thing. There will always be things that you cannot control which will impact how partners see you.

Either way, I think we agree pretty much. Life is not a wishing well where your every whim can come true. Sometimes biology is against you. If you‘re trans, you have some severe physical limitations that will impact your life and sexual partner, so you can‘t blame anyone for not wanting to deal with those problems.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, this wasn't a debate, but a discussion. You and I are definitely on the same page, just hashing out details.

[–]Neo2Trinity 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same here except MTF. I'm not a fan of policing attractions in general and this also seems to hurt trans people a lot more than helping.

I also find an interesting irony that they scorn "chasers" for preferring trans women over cis. Men are either transphobic or fetishists according to them. Good luck finding a unicorn.

Julia Serano puts it this way in an article about this subject:

“I am attracted to my trans partner, but not because they are trans, but also not in spite of the fact that they are trans. Because, after all, I believe that trans people and trans bodies are attractive and deserving of love. But by saying that, I am not trying to imply that I am specifically attracted to my partner’s more trans-specific traits, but at the same time, I am not grossed out by them either. Honestly, I view my partner’s body the exact same way that I view cisgender bodies. Oh God, I hope that last comment doesn’t come off as too cisnormative...”

transtrenders

nice

[–]svenskbitch 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well I think TG people should be as upset about transtrenders as rape victims should be about false accusers or people equating bad dates with sexual assault. Throw out the bathwater, not the baby.

[–]myspamhere 26 points27 points28 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think supermodels are horrible people because they will not have sex with middle age balding heavy set men.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure they will. Just as long as he's caked.

[–]menshouldhaverights 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like seriously there's nothing wrong for preferences one way or another IMO. To say someone is wrong for not liking transwomen is just as logical as saying a man is wrong for liking another man.

There is nothing wrong with preferences. Feminism is just insane.

[–]Tgunner192 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok, I should probably use a phony screen name for this, but fuck it. I'm going to be lynched or run out of town for saying this but oh well. Tom Brady is 40 (middle aged) and it's obvious he's had work done on his hair. I guess all we need to do is become a professional athlete and win a whole lot.

[+]jmg831 points 8 years ago* [recovered] (9 children) | Copy Link

If these folks want to alter their bodies, then that's their own business. They have, for what it's worth, my blessing. They don't, however, get to tell me that I'm a bad person for not wanting to have sex with them. Yeah, it's frustrating when you feel undesirable to the opposite (same? whatever) sex, I've been there. Get over it. "Cis" women have all kinds of ridiculous categories that a man must fit into before he's considered "suitable". His height, his looks, his job, his car, his clothes, his education, etc., yet this person is villifying straight men for having the preference that their girlfriend has to be an actual woman?

[–]ExpendableOne 13 points14 points15 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Women don't just have these conditions to determine those men as "suitable", they have conditions to determine those men as legitimate men/human beings. For a lot of women, men who fail to meet those ideals are entirely and thoroughly dehumanized and objectively desexualized. Any kind of sexual expression from those men is instantly regarded as an offence, because it in their eyes those men are not even allowed to have a sexual identity.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh, of course. A man who is "undesirable" better not have any kind of sexual urges, or he's a creep.

The truly funny thing is that this man who wants to be a woman is doing exactly what women accuse men of; acting as though they're owed sex. This "why don't men want to fuck me?" rant isn't all that different from Elliot Roger and his ilk.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Basically, the insecurities of this said "writer" is oozing out.

Deep down inside, they know they are undesirable and they themselves can't possibly have anything to do with it, hence they vilify anyone who dares to point out the obvious.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

They should be realistic about it. I've even heard of men being turned down because of their hair colour, or because they have no hair. I saw some woman on a TV dating show say she didn't like the guy because of the shirt he was wearing. There are hundreds, if not thousands of things about a man that women find fault in. Whether, I, or anyone else likes it or not, it's their prerogative. I'd say being trans is a bigger deal than almost all of those. Even if I would date a trans, I sure as fuck wouldn't go anywhere that one.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean, it's clear that this person is beyond reason after only a couple of sentences in.

I think he should take his own advice: if he feels like others are not interested in him, others are technically "just flesh" as well.

"You can probably deal with it"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, this person couldn't deal with the fact that he was born male, yet he expects some man to get over the fact that this person was born male? It makes no sense.

[–]bigbronze 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Sounds like he/she is stuck under the impression that men only think about sex and when someone offers them sex men should take it regardless. Hopefully this person will learn how wrong that stereotype is and stop spreading nonsense

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some people just listen to reason.

[–]splodgenessabounds 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He said men who want to be women should be treated “as the women they are,” adding that to consider transgenders sexually undesirable is “exclusionary.”

Some people are not attracted to some other people.

Up next: baby boys are typically dressed in blue therefore a clear daylight sky is sexist.

Or something.

[–]sweetcamberbro 42 points43 points44 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

So I'm a piece of shit because I'm straight and won't fuck a gay man.. Got it, I'm a proud piece of shit

[–][deleted] 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]The__Tren__Train 9 points10 points11 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

you don't like lady dicks? what are you... some sort of monster??

[–]plainwalk 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm gay and I don't find women attractive. I won't have sex with a trans person because I don't find the trappings of a woman attractive. I guess I'm as bad as you.

[–]sweetcamberbro 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No. Nobody will blink at eye at that because you're gay. It's the bastard cis straight males like myself that are the issue.

[–]plainwalk 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually, no, and I speak from personal experience :/ Some people get their nose out of joint if they get turned down, regardless of reason. As for backlash of this scale, you're probably right.

[–]scyth3s 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You're such a reverse pig

[–]ExpendableOne 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not just "men who look like women"... it's men who have some very deep-seated psychological issues that has them convinced they are or should be women. It's not just asking men to have sex with men, it's asking men to be okay with men who permanently mutilated their bodies to better resemble the physiology of a woman, or men who thought that this was a healthy course of action for them. It's not even just an issue of physical attraction or sexual orientation but it's also an issue of psychological attraction and an issue of whether or not it is even ethical to have sex with someone who may not even be in a good enough state of mind, or psychological well-being, to even consent to having sex. If a man was to take advantage of a woman's schizophrenia to have sex with her, that would be highly unethical.

[–]biff64gc 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just...wow...

Don't hear gay men bitching that straight men won't bang them. The entitled mindset SJW's and trans have gained from a lack of push back from the media is truly disturbing.

[–]shadowguyver 11 points12 points13 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I really feel the title is being disingenuous in its portrayal of the situation. It's not men who look like women, it's transwomen.

[–]MuslimGangEnrichment 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Transwomen isn't a real word. It's ugly men in drag.

[–]ilikerelish 18 points19 points20 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think Ben Shapiro got this exactly right. I am happy to allow someone the right to feel and think whatever they want about themselves, I just don't know how far I should have to go to support their delusion. To provide my definite answer, 0. Nobody should be forced to do anything they don't want to do in order to perpetuate that persons delusion.

I lost interest in the article before I could figure out if this transgender activist is male-to-female, or female-to-male, or even transgender at all...it's not that I don't recognize the persons right to identify with the gender of their choosing, it's just that I got extremely bored attempting to read the article.

That being said, I look forward to him/her telling lesbian women they should be having sex with men because it's "only skin"

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When this exchange becomes demonized.

"Hey you're cute. maybe i could buy you a drink?" "Thats nice of you, but im okay" "REALLY? YOU BIGOT, ITS BECAUSE IM ACTUALLY TRANS?" "no... im just not into you... i like women so i have no problem with you being one."

But im a SWCGM. It dont have any rights.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I find this kind of anger really funny. I shouldn't laugh at people who are clearly frustrated at sexual and romantic failure, but at some point in time, you have to wonder what they expected would happen.

The top pool for dating success with men is "women". The second best pool for dating success with men is "men". Between those two, you cover off about 99.99% of men. You can't surgically and hormonally make yourself into an outlier for both of those top choices and not suddenly watch your pool of potential sex and romantic partners shrink to nothing.

You don't have what gay men want. You don't pass well enough as a woman to trick most straight men.

Sorry. Maybe you should have kept the penis and just slept with men, given that you find them attractive?

[–]cankle_h8r 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you don't "pass" what the fuck do you expect? That's on you for not passing, and if you weren't a cute guy in the first place, chances are you're not gong to do better larping as a woman

A transwoman with a penis crossing swords with a straight male is heterosexual. Got it

Lifesitenews is the opposite of an honest source.

I mean, most of the trans "women" I've men dont even remotely look like women anyways, but hey if Lurch wants to call himself Sarah and put a wig on all the power to him. Doesnt mean I'm going to suddenly find him attractive or want to do the sex with him.

I'm a white man. I'm only attracted to white hetero women. I dont hate other races or genders, I just dont find them attractive enough to pursue romantically. I refuse to accept that makes me a racist homophobic asshole.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's your business. I wouldn't deem you a racist for that.

Maybe, just maybe, if it didn't cut off it's dick and if it didn't have to lie to people, it would be happier and be getting laid.

So, I call bullshit. This is a seriously disturbed right wing website, and some of their other "news" articles are just absolutely nutty.

I've looked into this person. It's real. These conservative folks are using it as an excuse to say "See!? Look at these freaks!", though.

[–]MuslimGangEnrichment 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well thry are freaks, and it does prove the slippery slope was real.

[–]boringcarpets 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Slippery slope? Next you'll be saying they're going after children....

So many times in this sub I see male suicide rates brought up as something horrible that need to be addressed. Yet many of the comments in this thread are the sort of comment that lead trans men to commit suicide. Shows that MRAs care more about bringing down feminists than actually supporting men.

I'm not saying that these people can't do what they want. I respect their life choices. They, in turn, should respect that I'm interested in cis women. The truth of the matter is that not everyone will find you attractive. Even if it's for a stupid reason, they're within their rights to not want sex or a relationship with me. When I was a teenager, it was frustrating that girls weren't into me. I'm an adult now, I can deal with it like an adult. So should this activist. It's not her job, or her right, to tell me who I should be attracted to. She's trying to be accepted for what she thinks she is, while telling other people that they aren't really what they think they are.

[–]shonkshonk -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

If you read the article it's pretty clear that her argument is that it would be good if men tried to examine what is causing the kneejerk reaction of 'I could never be attracted to a trans woman' (especially if that reaction has nothing to do with whether they are cis passing, have a vagina, etc). That's a far cry from invalidating anyone's identity, forcing them to have sex, calling them bad people, etc. The headline makes it seem otherwise.

The reasons you've mentioned are pretty valid reasons in themselves, surely?

"I don't see a problem with telling straight guys who are exclusionary of trans women partners that they should try to work through that"

"Being exclusionary of trans women partners should be an outlier and marginal position for straight men, not some commonplace expectation"

"These angry declarations that they have some absolute right to not want to be with trans women are just misplaced and inappropriate"

There are more quotes from this person, but I think I've made my point. They complain about a woman being "cis" as a dealbreaker for most men while attempting to shame men for said preference, essentially trying to say that it's down to societal influence rather than having any basis in reality. The truth is, we shouldn't even have to rationalise something like this. If a man doesn't want to date trans women, then that should be the end of it. They've done this to themselves.

Sure, but almost all these comments are broadly about not sleeping with trans women, some of whomever are cis passing and do have vaginas.

You've gotta understand that to some of us, hearing constantly and without solicitation that we are unfuckable because we have dicks and look like men is pretty unpleasant. It's analogous to being black and constantly hearing from men 'i wouldn't date a black girl because I hate the way they smell when they get wet'. A) its a stereotype not true for all black women, b) it's a horrible thing to hear and C) if people think that way about black women it is probably based on, at least ignorance, if not outright bigotry. Especially if they see nothing wrong with sharing that opinion. Same for trans women.

I think if you use the same analogy it makes sense. Is it inappropriate and misplaced to declare in public you consider black women unfuckable? Well at least in my social circles it would be. Noones saying you have to date black women. Just stop telling everyone how undateable they are. And if you don't want to date them so bad it might be worth examining if it is purely preference or has roots in some misplaced assumptions.

Again noone in the article or this thread is suggesting men have to date trans women. That's a strawman that you and others are constantly bringing up. Noone thinks that, you are just using it to avoid engaging with what we are actually saying...

"Celibate Religious Fundamentalist Thinks His Opinions On Sexuality Are Relevant To The General Population. Also, He Spends A Lot Of Time Following Trannies on Twitter."

LOL. One fucked-up dude criticizing another fucked-up dude. Jesus will totally heal what ails both of them if they just pray hard enough.
